Watch out, Coronation Street. There’s a new kid on the Cobbles, and he’s about to clash with Weatherfield icon.
Executive Producer Kate Brooks recently announced the arrival of Idris Nazir (Junade Khan), the cousin of Alya Nazir (Sair Khan).
All we know so far about this mysterious newcomer is that he oozes charm, he’s savvy, ruthless, not afraid to get his hands dirty, and he’s going to have a thing with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).
And possibly Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) while he’s at it.

However, not everyone will like Idris as much as Leanne.
Kate Brooks promised that while Idris may a bit of a jack the lad, he’s not without a darker side.
‘He’s funny, he’s a handsome chap, and he ruffles a lot of feathers, but he’s not without an edge. He’s not soft, and he’s certainly no pushover. ‘
That’s an understatement, on his very first day on the Cobbles, the new boy will have a happy reunion with his cousin Alya while getting on the wrong side of someone very dear to her heart – Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), her boyfriend and employer at Barlow Legal Services.

In upcoming scenes of Coronation Street, Weatherfield’s latest rogue comes to the rescue for Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) when he faces bullies at Speed Daal, earning a heroes’ welcome from Alya – and a trademark scowl from Adam.
While Brody works a temp shift at Speed Daal, a group of rowdy business men cause trouble, dropping a plate of curry over Brody’s trainers. As you can imagine, Leanne is not happy.

Suddenly, Idris appears, swiftly takes charge, demands cash for the trainers and throws the men out.

Alya pulls Idris in for a hug and Leanne recognises him from her days with her ex-boyfriend Kal Nazir (Jimi Miistri).

When Idris brags that he’s bought a property agency in Manchester and Brody asks for a job, Adam takes an instant dislike to Idris.
Adam takes an instant dislike to Idris as he reveals he’s bought a property agency in Manchester and Brody asks for a job.
It’s no secret that Adam has a vengeful streak and a tendency to hold grudges easily. Just asl Gary Windass (Mikey North), who the manipulative lawyer has tried to send to prison on more than one occasion.
The question is, is this just Adam being Adam? Or is there more to Idris than meets the eye?
