Viewers fear sinister scenes could be ahead for one family on Coronation Street.
After the news weeks ago that newcomer Becky Swain would turn villain, her escalating feud with ‘love rival’ Carla Connor has sparked concern. Becky returned from the dead not so long ago, leaving her ex-wife Lisa Swain reeling.
Lisa and their daughter Betsy Swain had mourned the loss of Becky after her apparent death in the line of duty four years earlier. Becky revealed she’d been hiding out in Spain after getting on the wrong side of a criminal, and so to protect herself ‘and her family’ she went on the run, faking her death in the process.
Conveniently she rocked up just as Lisa got engaged to her new partner Carla Connor. Becky has made it no secret that she wants Lisa and Betsy back with her, even wanting them to go to Spain.

With Lisa repeatedly telling Becky that it’s Carla she wants to be with, we’ve seen some drama. It’s reached a point where Becky and Carla have clashed a few times, and that’s only set to continue.
But just how far will Becky go to get rid of Carla, the person she believes is in the way of her getting her wife back? Viewers are fearing dark and deadly scenes could be ahead for the whole family.
Taking to X, one fan predicted: “Becky’s going to do a Richard Hillman and try and take the whole Conner Swains out… if she can’t have her family back then she’s going to ensure no one has them. Maybe a fire at the factory.”
Another viewer worried: “Carla’s getting killed off,” while a third fan theorised: “My top theories is that Becky will become a psychopath and start stalking Lisa, Carla and Betsy all of the time.”

It comes after Corrie boss Kate Brooks teased drama ahead between Becky and Carla. She told The Mirror: “So Becky is a bit of a villain. She’s come back and she knows what she wants.
“She wants her family back. She wants Betsy. She wants Lisa back. She wants to oust Carla from this very happy home life that she’s created. So we are watching this story develop, and slowly we’ll start to peel away the layers of Becky and who she is and what she’s actually capable of.
“At the minute on screen, we’ve only really scratched the surface, but she is capable of many things. The thing that she’s capable of doing the best is reminding Lisa of the life they had. They were together for a long time. They’ve got a child together. There’s that history between them. There’s that love there.”
