‘Gingerbread People’ Fury ERUPTS in Parliament as MPs Slam ‘Bonkers’ Christmas Rebrand

MPs today blasted House of Commons officials over a ‘bonkers’ decision to label traditional Christmas biscuits as ‘gingerbread people’.

Tory former minister Sir Desmond Swayne expressed his anger at the sale of a £1.70 ‘gingerbread person’ on the parliamentary estate.

He questioned why the 251-calorie snack had been given a gender-neutral name.

‘Who’s ever heard of a gingerbread person?,’ asked the New Forest West MP, after he posted a picture on social media of the ‘bonkers’ label.

Tom Tugendhat, a fellow Conservative MP, also mocked the decision to advertise the food item with a gender-neutral term.

‘This courage deserves recognition,’ quipped the Tonbridge MP.

Reform UK’s Lee Anderson said, if his party won power and Nigel Farage became prime minister, they would crackdown on ‘woke’ labels.

‘When Reform is in government there will be no more gingerbread people, no police people, or chair people,’ the Ashfield MP told The Sun.

‘We will not abandon tradition to appease the woke and delusional.

‘May our snacks be delicious regardless of their gender, and may big government please mind their own business.’

But some users of the X social media site asked Sir Desmond if he had ‘nothing better to do’.

‘Imagine stealing a living because you’re paid thousands a month to get angry over ginger biscuits,’ said one.

A House of Commons spokeswoman said they would not be commenting.
