Coronation Street Lauren star’s heartbreak as she issues tribute after dad’s death
Coronation Street star Cait Fitton has paid an emotional tribute to her late father on what would have been his birthday
Coronation Street favourite Cait Fitton has posted a touching tribute online after a devastating loss.
Cait rose to prominence portraying Lauren Bolton on the ITV drama – first appearing in 2022. As the spirited and devoted teenager, Lauren has been at the centre of numerous major storylines on the cobbles.
From being raised by her bigoted far-right extremist father Reece Bolton (Scott Anson) to murdering her tormentor Joel Deering (Calum Lill), Lauren’s stint in Weatherfield has been packed with turmoil.
Beyond the ITV drama, Cait regularly keeps her 60.7k Instagram followers informed about her daily activities – from behind-the-scenes glimpses at Corrie to sun-drenched vacation snaps, reports the Daily Star.
However, this week Cait shared a poignant tribute to her deceased father on his birthday. Posting to her Instagram Story on Tuesday (November 18) Cait uploaded a photograph of herself as a child standing beside her dad.
She captioned the pic: “Happy heavenly birthday Dad, 8 years will have passed by this year <3 I’m sending you lots of love up there.” This follows Cait marking her third Corrie milestone earlier this month.
Taking to Instagram, the soap actress shared a collection of images from her Corrie experience thus far, including a traditional shot outside the Rovers.
Accompanying the post, Cait penned: “3 years playing the pocket rocket that is Lozza Bolton. Time flies when you really are having fun. Let’s look back on some of my favourite moments so far…”
After individually captioning each photo, she added: “Thank you everyone who has shown nothing but love towards Lauren over the past 3 years . I love playing a character that is so complex to play . I love her!”.
“I feel so proud and privileged to have been given the honour to play out such inspiring stories and raise such important issues throughout my time on the cobbles so far.
“Thank you @coronationstreet and to @brookekinsella my amazing agent for always believing and trusting me within this process. I will forever be grateful to call this my job.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
