Laura Woods has spoken publicly for the first time since dramatically collapsing live on ITV during coverage of England Lionesses vs Ghana — a moment that left viewers horrified and forced the broadcaster to cut abruptly to adverts.
The 38-year-old presenter appeared to faint just minutes into the programme and was immediately caught by Ian Wright and Anita Asante before medics rushed in. Moments later, stand-in host Katie Shanahan told viewers that Laura was “doing okay” and in “very good hands”.

Her fiancé, Adam Collard, also stepped in to calm the growing panic online. He wrote that “Laura is all OK and with the right people,” adding his thanks to fans who had flooded social media with messages of concern.
Hours later, Laura finally broke her silence on Instagram, admitting she felt “really embarrassed” about collapsing on live television. She told fans: “Gosh, that was a bit weird. Sorry to worry everyone, I’m ok. The wonderful paramedic at Saints has said it’s probably a virus — just need rest and rehydration.”

She added that ITV colleagues had “really looked after” her and thanked Wrighty and “Neets” for catching her as she went down, apologising a second time for “scaring everyone”.
ITV later shared her statement on X with the message: “Wishing you a speedy recovery, @laura_woodsy.”
Fans quickly rallied around her, calling the moment “terrifying” and praising Ian Wright and Anita Asante for reacting so fast before she hit the floor.
