Christmas will be a dramatic time for Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden on Emmerdale.

Actor Danny Miller has teased big shocks and unexpected twists, amid possible returns and a worrying threat. Aaron and Robert, known as Robron, will be targeted this festive period, and soon enough the culprit is revealed.

Around this worrying plot and a big Christmas Day episode, the pair will also look into reintroducing Robert’s young son Seb into their lives. While this causes a clash with Seb’s former stepfather Ross Barton, it’s not Ross they need to watch out for.

With villains John Sugden and Kev Townsend also being a threat to the pair in recent weeks, Danny shared: “They don’t know who is doing these malicious things. They assume Ross because of the row over Seb, but I certainly don’t think they think it’s John.

“I think they think possibly it could be Kev, but not John.” Robert soon find out who’s to blame though, with Danny teasing: “He doesn’t share it with him straight away, because I think he feels as though he can deal with this situation without adding stress to Aaron’s life.”

Danny reckons Aaron and Robert will face trouble ahead. He explained: “I think Robert and Aaron are at a point together where they genuinely think it’s over. And naively believe they can just crack on with being together, because Kev is no more, John is no more, therefore everybody can live happily ever after.

“But, of course, it’s soap, and it doesn’t work like that.” Danny also teased the possible return of Seb in the New Year, explaining what brings this about. Danny shared: “I think because his life has been turned around.

“He is back in a stable relationship, or so he believes, with the love of his life, and life is good. And they’ve got the farm back. I think the idea would be to pick up where they left off.

“Seb lost his mum Rebecca and Ross signed him over to Rebecca’s Auntie. So the only other person that could potentially bring him up is his dad. I think, Aaron being the person that he is, would love to look after and cherish this kid and bring it up as their own.

“They think maybe this could work.” But having made the decision to give up Seb’s care and have him raised by Rebecca’s auntie, Rebecca’s ex Ross is not happy. Danny suggested Ross “could be a problem”.

As for Robron’s future, Danny revealed he’s certain the pair can unite and survive whatever life throws at them next. He teased: “I think, given everything they’ve been through, this is another, minor bump in the road that they need to get over.

“I think they’ll be okay, but you never know. There’s always something around the corner to challenge them. There has to be a breaking day one day. I just hope it’s not any day soon.”

Remaining coy over the details, he did reveal something shocking was on the cards that he hopes will leave fans stunned. He shared: “I am hoping people are as shocked by it as we were when we read it.

“But I think we are being careful with how much information we are giving the audience before it’s on screen. But it is exciting. I think there are a lot of moments where you go, oh my God, come on, please, please! Please wake up. That’s all I’ll say…”
