Emmerdale actress Michelle Hardwick couldn’t contain her pride for her Coronation Street wife following Monday’s hard-hitting episode.
The ITV soap delivered a groundbreaking instalment centred on Todd Grimshaw and Theo Silverton’s harrowing domestic abuse storyline.
Monday’s episode took an innovative approach, unfolding entirely through various camera perspectives including Todd’s concealed camera, CCTV footage, dashcam recordings, video doorbell clips and police bodycams. The flashback sequences laid bare the disturbing reality of what happens behind closed doors in heartbreaking scenes.
The episode concluded with Todd’s arrest after he defended himself against abusive Theo, and upon their return from the police station, Theo discovered Todd’s hidden camera in a chilling cliffhanger…
Viewers flooded social media with praise for Monday night’s episode, particularly lauding actors Gareth Pierce and James Cartwright, who portray Todd and Theo respectively, with many declaring the ITV soap worthy of major accolades, reports the Daily Star.
Michelle, 49, who is wed to Coronation Street executive producer Kate Brooks, was amongst those celebrating the powerful episode on Monday evening.
The actress, known for playing Vanessa Woodfield on Emmerdale and married to Kate since 2019, shared a touching tribute to her wife on Instagram.
