Coronation Street’s Sally Carman jokes co-star husband ‘is a problem’ in Christmas admission

Coronation Street star Sally Carman-Duttine has joked her husband is ‘a problem’ when it comes to her love of Christmas as she opened up about their plans for the festive season.
Those who follow the ITV soap best know the actress for playing Abi Webster in Weatherfield, having made her debut in the long-running show, which recently celebrated its 65th anniversary, back in 2017.
And the Trafford-based Corrie set is where Sally met her now-husband, Joe Duttine, who fans best know for playing Weatherfield’s Tim Metcalfe, despite both appearing in Channel 4 drama, Shameless previously.
They are thought to have started their relationship in the summer of 2018 and moved into a new home together at the end of 2019. Sally and Joe then tied the knot in July 2022 with the pair saying ‘I Do’ two years after getting engaged.
Now, Sally has spoken about her love of the festive season, and how her husband may be more ‘Grinch’ than ‘Father Christmas’. Asked by the Manchester Evening News at the premiere of Corriedale if he’s as much as a Christmas fan as her, the soap star said: “No, he’s a problem. He’s a problems, but I’m working on him.”

But she’s not the only Corrie star who is mad for Christmas, as she said of her castmate and real-life bestie Vicky Myers (aka DS Lisa Swain): “She’s also mad about Christmas. She’s got a professional demeanor but she’s nuts for Christmas. Nuts for it!”
Speaking about working with her friend, Sally added: “I’ve got Vicky Myers, Sue Devaney [who plays Debbie Webster] – the best women you could possibly ever wish for, and they’re both my best mates. So, living the dream.” Sally also works with her husband, Tim Matcalfe star Joe Duttine: “Oh yeah, the husband. Obviously the husband!”
It comes after Sally previously shard how she’ll be spening the festive season. “My husband and I will be spending it in Scotland,” she revealed. “We are going for a few days, staying in a very lovely, Christmassy hotel.”
