SHAMEFUL TV DISASTER: LORRAINE KELLY UNDER FIRE AFTER “CRUEL” ON-AIR MELTDOWN! VIEWERS ARE FURIOUS!

Fans of This Morning were left furious after Lorraine Kelly burst into laughter while introducing a guest who appeared on the show to discuss the devastating impact of being diagnosed with a micropenis.

The backlash unfolded at the end of Wednesday’s episode of Lorraine, when the 66-year-old presenter crossed live to the This Morning studio to chat with Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard about what viewers could expect over the next two and a half hours.

Cat casually told viewers that one of the upcoming segments would feature “the man with the world’s smallest penis.” Ben added cheerfully that it would be “a little bit of everything” for the audience that day. But Lorraine visibly struggled to keep a straight face, replying, “Honestly, honestly…” before breaking into laughter and joking that it was something you’d see “only on This Morning.”

The moment immediately sparked anger online, with many viewers accusing Lorraine of being immature given the seriousness of the topic. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one viewer snapped, “Dear me #Lorraine, grow up. #ThisMorning,” while another asked bluntly, “Why is she laughing?” Others agreed that her reaction undermined a guest who had come on the programme to raise awareness of a deeply personal medical condition.

The guest in question was Michael Phillips, from North Carolina, who appeared on This Morning to open up about being medically diagnosed with a micropenis and to help destigmatise the condition for other men. Michael explained that while the average penis size in the UK ranges between 3.5 and 5.8 inches, his measures just 0.38 inches.

Speaking candidly, Michael shared that he first realised something was wrong during his teenage years. He said that while he had girlfriends at school, he always assumed he was a late bloomer and that things would change with time. “It never did,” he admitted, explaining that he spent much of his teens and twenties keeping the condition to himself and avoiding relationships altogether because he “just didn’t want to go through that.”

He also revealed the everyday challenges he faces, including the fact that he cannot use a urinal and must always find a bathroom stall. When asked whether he had been bullied, Michael said he had largely kept the condition secret, meaning most people never knew. However, discussing it with partners has always been difficult, and he admitted he has tried every possible approach — from being upfront immediately to not saying anything at all.

Since speaking out publicly, Michael said he has been surprised by the response. He explained that reading comments and hearing women’s perspectives had shown him that “there’s a huge population that don’t care about that sort of thing,” something he found encouraging.

Michael also detailed the limited medical options available to him, including liposuction or ligament surgery, both of which he described as extremely expensive for minimal results. Encouraging other men to seek help earlier, he stressed that a micropenis is a medical condition that can sometimes be treated if diagnosed in infancy or early childhood, adding that discovering later in life left him with very few options and a sense of disappointment.
