A BREATH OF FRESH AIR: THE UNEXPECTED SHIFT THAT JUST CHANGED GENOA CITY

Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

Don’t get us wrong — The Young and the Restless has us glued to our seats with the show’s frontburner stories of Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) reign of terror, Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) possible pill addiction story, and Phyllis’s (Michelle Stafford) gloating over Cane’s (Billy Flynn) being in charge, and so much more! However, today’s episode repositioned some beloved characters who’ve been on the back burner to the forefront, and that’s brought a big smile to our faces! We’re not sure which players we enjoyed getting screentime the most. It was great seeing Abby (Melissa Ordway), Devon (Bryton James), and their son, Dominic (welcome to daytime, Ethan Ray Clark!). Abby’s been missing from the Newman business drama, and it was nice to see that she’s up to speed on what’s been happening. Meanwhile, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) not only lost Nate (Sean Dominic) when her conspiracy with Victor (Eric Braeden) was revealed, but she lost her friendship with Amy (Valarie Pettiford) — or maybe not fully after their encounter today? It’s been way too long since we’ve seen Mariah (Camryn Grimes), but we got her presence today! Alas, thanks to Ian (Ray Wise), Mariah’s fixation on Dominic appears to have returned! Fans who’ve wanted a story for Mariah, Abby, and Devon may get more than they bargained for if Mariah becomes a threat to Abby, Devon, and Dominic’s happy life together!
