Required material

  • A well-sharpened knife,
  • a few sheets of absorbent paper,
  • a little water,
  • a transparent plastic container,
  • Transparent Foil.

How to make the core

When we prepare the mango to eat it, we usually do not pay much attention to the pit, but in this case it is necessary not to damage it.

If the fruit is very ripe, it is enough to make an incision along the entire circumference, trying not to touch the core, and then simply twist the two halves to release it. If, on the other hand, the pulp is firmer, we are forced to make slices, always being careful not to touch the core and releasing it little by little.

Once we have the coveted kernel in our hands, we must extract the inside, being very careful again not to ruin it. Generally, there is a slit on the outside from which we start to open it and extract the inner pulp, it must come out completely whole.

When we finally have the mango seed in our hands, carefully wrap it in a few sheets of absorbent paper, place it in the container and with our hands or with a spray, moisten the entire Scottex. It must be well soaked in water but not soaked. We wrap the entire container with plastic wrap, in this way we will have created a mini greenhouse where the seed will remain in the right temperature and humidity conditions. We place the container in a well-lit place but protected from direct sunlight. In about ten days we will see the first shoots of our beautiful mango plant sprout.
