Unfortunately, not all of us are good gardeners,  there are those who simply do not know how to take care of plants  despite making a thousand different attempts to obtain a good result. If a plant dies despite care and attention,  we promise ourselves not to take any more, then we usually give in and history repeats itself. If your orchid is almost dead, do not worry, the last word has not yet been said, it may be that we can somehow bring it back to life and get it back to  perfect,  splendid shape.

The trick that allows you to bring the orchid back to life

By intervening in the world that follows,  we will be able to remedy a situation that is certainly unpleasant and complicated  , even sometimes dramatic. A few ingredients and tools that we all have at home or that can be easily found in any store are enough to bring the dead orchid back to life without spending too much money and without effort. What you need is ground cinnamon, a plastic bottle, scissors, a dish sponge, even a used one will do, a plastic bag, some bark, a water vaporizer and a flower pot  .

Here’s how and what to do to revive your plant in a few simple steps.

The plant is removed from the pot, the dead parts are removed, so dry branches, petals, leaves, roots. For this, sterilized scissors are used. Then, the cinnamon powder is taken and spread over the top, this prevents the flower from contracting  mold or any other disease.  At this point, place the orchid in a dry place for two days. It should be placed on a cotton cloth. Then it is transplanted, for this you need a plastic bottle with the neck cut off, then make some small holes in the base that serve to let the excess water flow.

Place a damp sponge on the base,  it must be sterilized and clean even if used, then place the orchid on top and cover it with a bag. This serves to create the greenhouse effect that allows the seedling to grow quickly in the heat and sheltered from the elements. The bottle must be completely covered, the bag must remain still so if you are afraid that it may move, you can apply wire to it. All this will help  the orchid to recover after a maximum of one or two months  and become a plant full of life again. Then you have to remember that you have to expose it to the sun all year round except in summer, otherwise it dies due to too high temperatures. Once the new roots have sprouted, you repot it and that’s it.

What you need to know to take good care of your plant all year round

You should remember that when you water your orchid,  you should not use the usual method of pouring water directly on it.

The best method would be natural water, i.e. rainwater, as tap water is dangerous because it is hard water. It would be best to immerse the vase for a maximum of  5 to 10 minutes in a bucket of water.  The plant thrives best in humid places, such as the kitchen or bathroom.

Which soil is best to use?

It is advisable  not to use normal potting soil  but the special soil for orchids that is sold in all plant shops and nurseries. Fertilization is necessary and should be done from March to October, twice a month.

When the plant has wilted or is about to wilted, it can be made to flower again by simply  cutting the branch above the second node.  It may happen that the plant develops aerial roots that even come out of the pot. Although you may have the opposite feeling,  this is a sign of well-being of the plant, it means that it is fine, so it is not necessary to do anything about it.
