Beloved duo flood with support as new series returns — and viewers say they’ve been sorely missed
Fans of Gogglebox have rushed to show their love and support for one of the show’s most popular couples, Teresa and Anita, following a light-hearted but highly anticipated update ahead of the new series.
The Channel 4 favourites, who joined the programme in March 2024, have quickly become viewer favourites thanks to their sharp wit, natural chemistry and effortlessly funny reactions from their home in Solihull, Birmingham.
A Duo Viewers Instantly Took to Their Hearts
Whether it’s Anita calmly knitting while delivering deadpan commentary, or Teresa cracking jokes with snacks in hand, the couple’s relaxed dynamic has struck a chord with audiences across the UK.
Off screen, Teresa and Anita regularly give fans a glimpse into their everyday lives on Instagram — from countryside walks and outdoor adventures to sweet moments with their much-loved dog.
It’s that warmth and authenticity, fans say, that makes them feel like “family”.
The Post That Sparked the Reaction
Excitement peaked over the weekend when Teresa shared a playful post on Instagram as Series 27 of Gogglebox prepares to launch on Friday, February 6 at 9pm.
Posting a photo of Anita standing in wooden stocks during a day out, Teresa joked:
“I suppose I had better release Anita from the stocks so we can start filming again.”
She added:
“Can’t wait for the return of the wonderful @c4gogglebox next Friday, 9pm CH4. Don’t forget your snacks folks.”
The post instantly lit up social media.
‘We’ve Missed You So Much!’
Fans wasted no time flooding the comments with excitement and support.
“Great stuff that you are back!!” one viewer wrote.
“Can’t wait to see you both back on Gogglebox,” added another.
“Oooo we’ve missed you guys so much!!!” said a third.
Many described the pair as a “comfort watch” and said the show wouldn’t feel the same without them.
Changes Behind the Scenes
The reaction comes after Gogglebox underwent a cast shake-up last year, with Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle leaving the programme in September 2025.
Since then, several new households have joined the line-up, including couples and families from Glasgow, Surrey, the Cotswolds and Yorkshire — all part of Channel 4’s effort to keep the show fresh while retaining its familiar charm.
Studio Lambert’s creative director Mike Cotton previously said the team was “thrilled” to welcome new households alongside the returning favourites.
Why Teresa and Anita Matter to Viewers
In a show built on honesty and everyday reactions, Teresa and Anita’s appeal lies in their ease, humour and genuine affection for each other.
They don’t try to steal the spotlight — and that’s exactly why fans adore them.
As Gogglebox returns to screens this week, one thing is clear: viewers aren’t just tuning in for the TV commentary.
They’re tuning in for them.
And judging by the wave of support, Teresa and Anita’s place on Britain’s sofas is more secure than ever.
