Who plays Colin in Coronation Street and where have you seen actor before?
The truth about Daniel Osbourne’s Christmas attack storyline was exposed in Friday’s episode of Coronation Street
Coronation Street delivered a shocking twist during Friday’s episode as Daniel Osbourne uncovered the truth behind his Christmas Day attack.
In the latest instalment, now available on ITVX, Daniel participated in a restorative justice scheme to meet Colin, the homeless man imprisoned for assaulting him.
During their first encounter, Daniel became puzzled when he noticed Colin had a limp and an injury he’d been living with for the past eight months.
Daniel was bewildered, as he clearly recalled his attacker fleeing the scene – something Colin would have been physically incapable of doing. He began questioning Colin, who confessed he had no recollection of that evening.
When Daniel pressed him on why he’d admit to a crime he couldn’t remember committing, the prisoner revealed he was desperate for shelter, even if it meant incarceration, as it was preferable to rough sleeping, reports the Daily Star.
Realising Colin wasn’t responsible, Daniel quickly deduced that Will Driscoll was the true culprit after overhearing Eva Price reprimanding the teenager for his temper following an incident where he accidentally smashed his stepsister’s tablet.
Recalling additional details from the attack, including curly hair and someone running off, Daniel confronted Will, who denied any involvement.
However, by the episode’s conclusion, police arrived to arrest Will for questioning. He attempted to flee but was apprehended by Detective Kit Green.
Actor Karl Cam has taken on the role of Colin. Throughout his career, Karl has featured in numerous productions including Silent Witness, Moving On, Everyone Else Burns, Talamasca: The Secret Order and Steal.
This storyline follows Daniel’s brutal assault over the Christmas period, which left him unconscious in the ginnel. Coronation Street has been exploring a deeply troubling grooming narrative centring on Megan Walsh.
Thus far, the athletics coach and teacher has successfully concealed her inappropriate relationship with teenage pupil Will, using Daniel – who remains oblivious – as a decoy boyfriend, which has sparked jealousy in Will.
The assault on Daniel was carried out by Will, whilst his grandmother, Maggie Driscoll, helped conceal the crime by deliberately planting evidence on Colin to falsely implicate him.
Now that Will has been taken into custody, questions remain over whether he will face charges for the attack and if his relationship with Megan will finally come to light.
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
