‘This is not great for my mental health… it’s not a life I want’: Traitors champion Rob Rausch reveals shock plans to QUIT reality TV just days after beating Maura Higgins — as the 27-year-old admits he longs to return to his quiet life in Alabama…

ROB Rausch has revealed shock plans to quit reality TV – just days after winning The Traitors.

The 27-year-old has become a sensation after his stunning victory on The Traitors and two appearances on Love Island USA.

But Rob has confessed fame is “not great” for his mental health and made it clear he’s not in it for the long-run, preferring his laid-back life in Alabama working as a snake wrangler.

He said: “To be honest, this is not great for my mental health in any way shape or form.

“I haven’t been to the gym. I haven’t been in a routine. And that’s not a life I really want. I don’t know if TV is good for me.

“But then another part of me is like, ‘Rob, just stick it out. Do this for five years then you can settle down’. But it’s like, when does that end?”

Speaking to Interview, Rob also shared his love of life on the farm with his grandpa where they “feed the cows or fix a fence”.

He also shut down any suggestion that his good looks gave him an advantage on The Traitors when asked if his appearance helped to “cast a spell” on his co-stars.

Rob – who soft-launched his secret girlfriend just yesterday – replied: “If you put another guy that looked exactly like me in the exact same scenario, if they weren’t able to make the same strategic decisions, they would’ve been out of the show.

“It definitely didn’t win me the game.”

But someone who did fall for Rob’s cunning lies was UK Love Island legend Maura Higgins, who made it to the final with him.

The pair grew close during the show and she was under the impression they’d be sharing the $220,800 prize money.

Maura was left floored after learning the truth and was momentarily speechless.

He told her: “I’m so sorry, I’m a traitor.”

“No… are you joking?” She replied.

Rob confirmed he was finally telling the truth, adding: “This whole game I’ve been a traitor.”

Maura was then seen bending over while struggling to process the news, saying: “Oh my god. I’m so stupid. I was so fooled by you.

“You absolute a******e. You pinky promised!”

The camera then cut to a sheepish-looking Rob, who replied: “I know I pinky promised, I know.”

And reality TV fans can expect to see Rob back on screens later this year – if Dancing With The Stars bosses manage to persuade him to sign up.

The U.S Sun recently told how he’s top of their wish list, with an insider revealing: “Absolutely, DWTS wants Rob. He’s the main target from this Traitors season that that show wants to get.

“Nothing is finalized but he’s been given the offer and there’s a spot on the cast that is his if he wants it.”
