Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on The Young and the Restless

Soon after we first met Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), he kidnapped Michael Scott (Nick Benedict) because the man was having an affair with Victor’s wife, Julia (Meg Bennett). Victor kept Michael in the basement of his ranch and fed the man rats as part of his revenge scheme. Hate him or love him, no one can deny that Victor had every right to be peeved at Michael for having sex with his wife. However, Victor kidnapping Jack (Peter Bergman), which we’ve been led to believe has happened, given the tag in today’s episode, is a different story. Jack hasn’t been having an affair with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Victor’s current wife. Sure, they share a friendship, but that’s not enough of a reason to kidnap someone. Victor has told Billy that if he doesn’t hand over Chancellor Industries by the end of the day, neither Billy nor anyone in the Abbott family will ever see Jack again. We’re starting to see why The Young and the Restless doesn’t have a regular lawman. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) chloroforming Cane (Billy Flynn)? That’s assault. Victor taking Jack against his will (if that’s indeed what has occurred), well, that’s kidnapping. Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is a baddie who is threatening physical harm to people on The Young and the Restless. But how different is Matt from players in the ongoing AI war who are committing crimes that some feel are parallel?
