What Happened on General Hospital
If Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) finds Carly (Laura Wright) getting cozy with Valentin (James Patrick Stewart), what we have to look forward to isn’t going to look like every other soap love traingle we see. For months, Jason has been living on the low, just to keep Carly out of prison on racketeering charges. He has essentially traded his relationship with his sons and his own freedom to keep her safe.
To discover that Carly is harboring a fugitive, especially one like Valentin, would be a massive slap in the face to the sacrifices Jason is making.
Jason isn’t the type to get caught up in petty jealousy. His mind is all business, focused on the tactics, not romance. If he walks in on them, his fgo-to won’t be about a broken heart; it will be about the absolute nightmare Valentin represents.
To Jason, Valentin isn’t just a charming Cassadine; he’s the link to Pikeman, the organization Jason is trying to take down. It’s not like Carly is actively trying to shaft Jasons goals but damn if it doesn’t look a way.
Consequences and Repercussions
We know Carly has a history of being impulsive, but hiding Valentin in her home while Jason “bleeds” for her, figuratively and literally, is exceptionally reckless. This ius next level reckless when you break down all that is happening. Valentin might claim he has feelings for her, but Jason knows better than anyone that a Cassadine’s affection is usually a liability. How is Carly, who is pretending with Jack, to take him down for something he hasn’t done going to deal with the amout of moving oarts that are now just piling on?
The issue here isn’t just about a secret romance. Jason is playing a long game to dismantle a criminal empire, while Carly is playing a dangerous game of sympathy with a man who makes her a walking target in the game of Port Charles.
It’s not a case of if these two finally collide over Valentin just when. Expect Jason to deliver a blunt ultimatum: Carly has to choose between her flirtation with a fugitive and the protection Jason is nearly dying to provide. Carly will have to decide if Valentin is worth the price Jason is currently paying.
