At 87, Johnny Ball isn’t just surviving – he’s thriving! The iconic children’s TV presenter, known for his years on Play School, is reflecting on his brave battle with prostate cancer and how it’s made him appreciate life more than ever.
After receiving the all-clear last year, Johnny opened up about the emotional journey of his diagnosis and treatment. He admits, “I’ve been kicked in the teeth by life, but I still can’t help but smile.” Despite the tough years, he remains upbeat, staying fit and embracing his family.
Johnny’s battle with prostate cancer began in August 2022, but after months of daily radiation treatment, he’s now enjoying more years than he ever expected. With a simple seven-minute daily workout routine and a balanced diet, he’s in better shape than many half his age.
In an exclusive interview, he told The Mirror, “I’m lucky to be here, and I want to spend whatever time I have left with a smile.” Johnny, who is also celebrating 50 years of marriage to his wife Dianne, has no plans to slow down. With his new memoir Stories That Must Be Told! hitting shelves soon, Johnny’s never been more determined to make the most of every day.
