Holden searched for job leads on his phone while at Crimson Lights. Audra came upon him, and the two sparred. Audra made fun of Holden not having a job. Holden noted that Audra didn’t want him talking to Claire, or else their secret from Los Angeles might come out. Audra wondered if Esther was hiring at Crimson Lights.

Audra admitted she’d been mean to Holden. She said she had more on her mind than Kyle and Claire. Holden wondered if Audra had been crushed by Kyle turning her down. Audra dismissed Holden’s thoughts. Audra said Kyle makes her skin crawl and that Noah was taken. She asked him to stop obsessing over her love life. Holden said that he wanted Claire and that they had been building something good. Audra said, “Don’t you dare,” to Holden after he threatened to come clean with Claire.

The Doctor is In

Dr. Stephanie Simmons approached Audra as she was threatening Holden. Stephanie asked Audra who the hell she thought she was by threatening her son! Holden greeted his mother warmly. He said Audra was an old friend. Stephanie wondered if that’s how old friends treat each other. Holden said that they were kidding. Audra agreed. Stephanie was skeptical.

Audra assured Stephanie that she and Holden were not involved. Audra introduced herself to Stephanie. She put her hand out. Stephanie did not take it. Audra withdrew her hand. Then, Stephanie extended hers. Audra said that Stephanie is a doctor in New York. Holden asked his mother if she was retiring.

Stephanie called Audra “Audrey” and told her she needed to talk to Holden alone. Audra left. “I don’t like that girl,” Stephanie said. “That one is bad news. Watch your back.”

Business highs and lows

Cane’s accountant told him the news wasn’t good regarding his current assets. Cane looked over his financial records and was irritated to learn that he essentially had nothing. The accountant said they have no avenues to get any business going.

Cane said he has some money in some offshore accounts. He said he was going to take what was other people’s and make it his. Cane told his accountant to look into the major companies in town so he could know how to attack them. Cane added that kidnapping to get info wasn’t off the table. The accountant said he couldn’t sign up for this. Cane confirmed to the accountant that he was fired. Cane threw papers at his ex-accountant as he left.

In her office at Summers Conglomerate, Phyllis negotiated with Bobby, a business associate. They struck a deal. Phyllis told Bobby that he wasn’t dealing with the Newmans anymore. She said she’d have lawyers draw up papers. Phyllis said Bobby’s portrait would end up in his company’s lobby.

Family reunion

Nate and Devon ran into Lily at the Genoa City Athletic Club. Nate broke the silent tension by saying he and Devon were still upset over Lily’s role in her fake kidnapping. Lily said she couldn’t stay with them as she was meeting someone. Devon hoped it wasn’t Cane.

Nate wondered if Lily felt guilty over fooling Cane. She said that she did. Nate said that if he and Devon had known this was all to teach Cane a lesson, they would have gone along with it. Lily said she didn’t want to add to their pain as Devon was going through Dominic’s kidnapping.

Then, Malcolm entered the revolving door of the Genoa City Athletic Club. Lily was expecting Malcolm. They hugged. He called her “baby girl.” Devon and Nate were not expecting Malcolm. He said he was there for some family time.

Lily said it was great to see Malcolm, and she was happy to learn that he was in town. Lily told Devon no, she had not told Malcolm about her and the twins being kidnapped. Malcolm asked to see Lily alone. Nate and Devon understood.

Father/daughter date

Malcolm and Lily talked in private in the Neil Winters jazz lounge. They both looked at his portrait. Malcolm said that looking at Neil’s face reminded him that he can handle anything. Malcolm said that he wasn’t scared, but he shared with Lily that he has aplastic anemia. He added that a transfusion from a blood relative can help him. Malcolm said he needed Lily to save his life.

Malcolm told Lily that his doctor was optimistic. Lily offered to get tested to see if she was a match. Malcolm said that if Lily were a match, then the procedure wouldn’t be a walk in the park. Malcolm said Olivia had the same disease years ago and that Dru saved her life. Lily said that she is an example of proving that cures exist.

Malcolm said he got second, third, and fourth opinions. He added that there’s a good chance for a full remission if the bone marrow transfer works. Lily said she hated that she couldn’t save Neil. That’s why she’s so honored that Malcolm has reached out to her. Malcolm assured Lily that he’d be okay. Once he was, he’d give credit to the man upstairs.

Meanwhile, Nate and Devon, having taken a table, talked about why Malcolm wanted to talk to Lily. Nate theorized some ideas out loud that may have to do with Cane. Devon said that Lily might not reveal details of her talk with Malcolm, as she hadn’t been honest with them about Victor and the “kidnapping.” Devon thinks that Lily must care about Cane if she went to the lengths that she’s gone.

Devon hoped that Cane would leave town. On cue, Cane appeared and announced he wasn’t going anywhere. Cane quoted Casablanca and said he came to the GCAC for the waters. Devon asked if he thought he’d been funny. Cane said he wasn’t going to run away with his tail between his legs. Devon noted Cane had nothing going on in town, so he should leave. Cane said he was staying indefinitely. Devon said Cane knew that nobody wanted him to stay.

Cane assured the two men he wasn’t finished; he was just getting started. Devon said that he’d go after Cane if his plans affected Lily or anyone in his family. Cane said his plans didn’t include the Winters family, especially after Lily allied herself with Victor.

Phyllis, it sure isn’t you

Phyllis arrived. She asked if it was true that he had given up on Lily. “Took you long enough,” Phyllis quipped. She then turned around and was surprised to see her old pal, Malcolm. He told her he heard that she was running Genoa City. She said she had a modest office. Malcolm said there was never anything “modest” about Phyllis.

Cane greeted Malcolm, who said that he needed to leave his family alone. They don’t want him. Cane said the feeling was mutual. Cane left.

Phyllis asked Malcolm to come by the office. Devon thanked Malcolm for dealing with Cane. Devon thanked Malcolm for his support when Dominic was kidnapped. Malcolm got a text. Lily asked if everything was okay.

Malcolm shared that he had to leave and meet an old friend. He said he’d catch up with everyone later. Malcolm left. Devon asked if Malcolm had said something to upset her. Lily urged Devon not to press for information. “Everything’s fine,” she said.

At the bar, Phyllis told Cane that it didn’t look like he was over Lily. Phyllis said it was hard for her to watch Cane make a fool of himself. He asked her to sit elsewhere. Phyllis said no. She was having a celebratory mimosa because things were so good at Summers Conglomorate. Cane asked if she was still there. “I’m never leaving,” Phyllis stated. She wondered if Cane was out for revenge against Victor, Lily, and her?
