THE L.E.T.H.A.L LETTER THAT SHATTERED ELECTRA’S WORLD: IVY’S CRUEL BETRAYAL FINALLY EXPOSED!

The episode picks up where Thursday’s left off, with Daphne in the showroom pleading with Electra to shut up and let her spill “what I know.” In the design office, Ivy orders Will to leave Electra alone. In the CEO’s office — sheesh! — Ridge and Brooke are still letting R.J. blather about Electra. Does this kid not have an “off” switch?

R.J. Prattles On and On and…

Following the opening credits, Brooke likens R.J. and Electra to herself and Ridge. For the youngsters’ sake, I hope that’s wrong! Ten minutes in — shoot me now — R.J. is recapping Will and Electra’s story to his parents. “I don’t trust him,” R.J. says. “He’s a Spencer.” OK, buddy. We get it. We so get it.

Will and Ivy Talk in Circles

In the design office, Ivy plays Will her broken record. He insists that Electra doesn’t need her protection from him. But he might as well be talking to the wall; Ivy even says as much. Will points out that he and Electra had been through so much and were sure to make it… how did things go so wrong? “Why can’t you just admit that you treated her poorly?” Ivy asks. “Let her be with R.J.”

As soon as Will leaves, Ivy whips out the incriminating evidence — the letter she should have burned weeks ago!

Daphne Beats Around the Bush

In the showroom, Daphne admits she should have talked to Electra a long time ago. But she nonetheless delays further by recapping Will and Electra’s previous conversation. Then at last Daphne says Will never received the letter Electra wrote, and that’s because…

Pfft. Of course she doesn’t get to say why right then. First we get a commercial. Afterwards, Electra recaps Will’s “response” to her letter. Still, Daphne doesn’t just say, “Your aunt took your letter, dingbat!” Why is Daphne letting this go on and on? Is it just because this is Bold & Beautiful?

“Someone wants to keep you and Will apart,” Daphne says at last. “Who?” Electra asks. (Cue her confused face.) “Perhaps,” Daphne replies, “you should talk to your Aunt Ivy.” OMG! Still, Electra doesn’t get it. She wonders why she should talk to Ivy. Then the lightbulb goes off over her head. “I don’t like what you’re implying.”

At that point, Electra starts becoming pre-wigged out. Daphne instructs her to go to Ivy and find out what really happened to sink her relationship with Will.

Electra Sets Up Ivy for a Major Takedown

In the episode’s final moments, Electra finds Ivy in the design office and sets her up for a big confession, noting that her aunt said there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for her. “And I meant it,” Ivy says, taking the bait.

In the main office, Ridge and Brooke don’t seem to have gotten their fill of talk about the kids. Even though R.J. has left the room, they’re still yapping about FC’s twentysomethings. Ridge even doubles down on his refusal to fire Will.

Speaking of whom, the Spencer heir bumps into R.J. in the showroom. “You had your chance, you blew it,” R.J. says. “No one is turning Electra against you — you did that all by yourself.”

Ivy Reveals the Truth — and the Stolen Letter!

Back in the design office, Ivy sings R.J.’s praises up one side and down the other. In turn, Electra, more shrewdly than usual for her, sets up for aunt for the takedown. She reminds Ivy of the day she first kissed R.J., when she was so upset about Will being a no-show after reading her letter. Electra couldn’t figure out what happened — till today, she says, when she talked to Daphne.

Tearfully, Electra asks, “Ivy, did you take my letter?” She further asks where it is — and Ivy foolishly pulls it out of her purse. The jig is officially up!
