Now that The Bold and the Beautiful’s Katie needs to start looking for another head designer for Logan, will she finally reach out to Deke? She spoke to him a few months ago at Il Giardino, but she hasn’t called him since. Perhaps it’s time for Deke to take the initiative and approach Katie for a job at Logan?
Brooke’s feud with Katie on The Bold and the Beautiful

We realize that Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is considered a beloved character, but can she please get a life and leave her sister, Katie (Heather Tom), alone to live hers? How many times does Brooke feel the need to nag Katie about “stealing” Eric’s (John McCook) designs, when Bill (Don Diamont) clearly explained at the Logan launch that they bought Eric’s designs?
The sooner Katie moves on and looks for a new head designer, the better. That way, we can stop hearing Brooke and Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) ridiculous accusations about Katie being a thief. Now would be the perfect time for Katie to contact Deke (Harrison Cone) for an interview.
But since she hasn’t called him yet, perhaps Deke should take the bull by the horns and initiate a conversation with her? It’s often said that when you’re looking for a job, you need to “sell yourself” and show the interviewer what you have to offer. Maybe it’s time for Deke to do just that?
Katie’s conversation with Deke at Il Giardino

Earlier this year, Katie had a friendly conversation with Deke at Il Giardino, telling him that she was very impressed with his designs when he was working at Forrester Creations. It seemed like she was trying to determine whether his designs would be a good fit for the vision she had for Logan.
He was let go from working at FC because Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Ridge decided that Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and Zende (Delon de Metz) should be the design team for Hope For the Future. Steffy said they couldn’t afford to keep Deke on their payroll, which makes no sense, considering that she just added Dylan (Sydney Bullock) to the payroll a few weeks ago when Dylan joined FC as the front-desk receptionist.
At the end of Katie’s talk with Deke, she told him she would be speaking to him again soon. So, why hasn’t he heard from her since that day at Il Giardino? We anticipated that she would call him to arrange for an interview at Logan, but it never happened. Apparently, the B&B writers changed their minds about the direction they wanted the story to go. We feel badly for Deke, because he’s a talented young man who’s been working as a busboy instead of getting his designs out there for the world to see. Maybe it’s time for him to muster some self-confidence and call Katie, instead of waiting for her to call him?
Here’s what could have been a fun storyline…

It’s a shame that Deke’s ex-boyfriend, Remy (Christian Weissmann), isn’t a fashion designer as well. If he had been on the canvas regularly for the past few months, then the B&B writers could have created a rivalry between him and Deke.
Perhaps Katie could have considered them both for the position of head designer at Logan. This competition, of course, would have been difficult for Remy and Deke because of their past relationship. But in the end, Katie could have decided that she would hire both men. One would be head designer and the other would also be on the design team, perhaps as the assistant to the head designer.
We need more active designers on the show besides the Forresters. If both Deke and Remy were designers at Logan, then it would have provided a nice balance. But we only have Deke as a non-Forrester designer, and it’s a shame that his talents are being wasted. Let’s hope he gets tired of waiting for Katie to call him to schedule an interview and takes the initiative and reaches out to her instead. It’s time he shows her what Logan and the rest of the fashion world have been missing out on these past few months.
