DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) snap the cuffs on one Coronation Street resident next week, making a very public arrest in the wake of a grisly murder.
The ITV soap is currently airing an event week of murder, betrayal and devastation, with a number of the Street’s biggest villains finding themselves in danger of winding up dead.
A flash-forward sequence earlier this year previewed the tragedy to come, with Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) left screaming in terror after finding a corpse on the evening of mum Lisa’s wedding to Carla (Alison King).
There are five potential victims. Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) and Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) and Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown).
By the week’s end, one of them will meet their demise.
And while viewers will have to wait and see who exactly it is that perishes, new spoilers reveal a little about what to expect next week – as shockwaves are sent through the cobbles.

Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is on hand as the investigation into the unexpected death begins, with intense interrogations unfolding as the residents struggle to come to terms with the tragedy that has befallen the legendary Street.
Speculation is rife about what happened to the person in question and the pathologist’s report soon confirms that this death was no accident. Thus the investigation soon becomes a murder one.
In the wake of the atrocity, Lisa and Carla postpone their honeymoon to be there for Betsy but Lisa’s attention is soon elsewhere as she begins a formal round of questioning.
And it’s not long before inconsistencies in one resident’s story emerges, which leads to a very public arrest.

The question is: who?
The jury is still out so to speak but the resident is held for questioning and their nearest and dearest struggle to get their heads around it. Lisa and Kit, meanwhile, reel over a startling piece of forensic evidence that could prove to be there breakthrough they’ve been looking for.
And as the investigation is taken up a notch, the pressure mounts for one couple, with a suspicious partner demanding the truth behind a sudden change in behaviour.
As Lisa and Kit move in, a desperate lie provides a temporary reprieve but as tech experts work to recover deleted evidence, the threat of the truth looms.
Let the speculating commence!
