A ‘whodunnit’ is underway in Coronation Street and the fallout is set to continue next week, with Theo Silverton’s killer still at large in the long-running show.

As a new week gets underway, at the station, DC Kit Green and DS Lisa Connor-Swain agree that Gary Windass’ alibi doesn’t stack up. But as things start to unfold, at the Rovers Return, Todd Grimshaw stares daggers at Kit and Lisa, who interprets his animosity as guilt.

However, it seems the heat is off Todd as later, the police call at the builder’s yard and start gathering potential evidence, including some scaffolding poles. As the investigation hangs over Weatherfield, Summer Spellman reveals that she’s been offered a place at an American university and Todd insists that she must accept the offer as it’ll do her good to start afresh.

As the week draws to a close, Lisa tells Kit that they couldn’t retrieve the deleted CCTV footage from Gary’s computer, and they’re back to square one in their search for Theo’s killer. But back on the street, Kit makes it clear to Gary that he’s still his number one suspect.

Meanwhile, Ben Driscoll is stunned to discover £2k missing from the safe, admitting to his mother, Maggie, and partner, Eva Price, that he left it open after an argument with barman, Sean Tully. While the family think about who the thief could be, Will secretly meets Megan Walsh to hand over the cash, securing their flights to France.

But when Eva confronts him about the money, how will he react? Later, Will asserts he can’t wait to move to Scotland and soon, Ben, Eva and Susie bid an emotional farewell to the teen as he leaves in Tim Metcalfe’s taxi, unaware of his true plans.

While in the cab, Tim receives a notification that the Glasgow train is cancelled. When Will insists that they head for the station anyway, Tim becomes suspicious. Having also seen that Will’s train is cancelled, Ollie tries to call him.

Upon realising Will’s passport has gone, Ben’s thrown into panic and instructs Steve to message Tim and tell him not to let Will out of his sight. Tim tells Will all about his relationship with Trisha, how much he enjoyed it at the time, but how he’s come to realise that technically he was a victim of rape. Can Tim get through to Will?

Having headed back to the cobbles, a downbeat Will asserts that he no longer wants to move to his mum’s, leaving Ben relieved whilst Maggie masks her panic. Will also tells them that reporting Megan was the hardest thing he’s ever had to do, as he loved her.

Meanwhile, at the station, Lisa interviews Megan. When Lisa reveals that Will is alleging he had a sexual relationship with her, Megan is adamant that it’s all lies. Questioning her about the £2k taken from the Rovers’ safe and her plan to start a new life in France with Will, will Megan be charged?

Tim sympathises with Will and tells him how he went to see Trisha, and it helped him find peace. Elsewhere, when Ben gets a call from Melanie, Maggie’s thrown into panic and tells him they need to talk. Will Maggie tell Ben the truth about what happened to his dad? Whatever he may discover, tensions are high in the Rovers as Ben melts down after the week from hell.

Also on the cobbles, Sam Blakeman begs Hope Dobbs to accompany him to the Red Rec to watch a meteor shower, but Hope refuses. When Sam sees Will coming out of a classroom and giving an evil look, Sam’s left rattled. As Sam sets off for the Red Rec, Will threatens him, and Sam drops his telescope, smashing it on the ground and runs for his life.

Later, Leanne Battersby finds Sam and Hope in Victoria Garden surveying the broken telescope and asks them what happened. Hope urges Sam to tell her about Will. But Hope later ribs Sam about his obsession with Will, which makes Sam lose it. As Sam heads down the ginnel, he sees Will, who threatens him.

As the week continues, Sam gets ready for his maths exam, but it’s clear he’s not himself and Leanne’s concerned. Nick Tilsley and Toyah Battersby also voice their concerns about Sam and wonder if some counselling would help with his anxiety. However, they’re unaware that Sam is listening in and overhears a very different conversation. It leaves Sam horrified to think that his family don’t believe him, and he’s entirely on his own.

Trying to help, Nick and Toyah share their concerns about Sam with Roy Cropper, who offers to call by for a game of chess. But Roy finds an agitated and distressed Sam surveying a tracking device he found in his school bag. But who is following Sam?

Elsewhere, David Platt demands Jodie Ramsey move out, but a furious Jodie retaliates by sowing seeds of doubt in his wife Shona’s mind about the bedroom incident, making out that there was more to it. Unable to find a place to stay, Jodie overhears Ken Barlow talking about Daniel Osbourne’s holiday and forms a plan. Later, Ken and Bertie call Daniel, assuming he’s in the Lakes, and Daniel tells them that the country air is doing him the power of good.

However, Jodie lets herself into the builder’s yard flat and comes face to face with Daniel. Jodie makes out that she found his spare key on the pavement and was simply returning it, but Daniel is disbelieving and orders her out. When Jodie threatens to tell his family that he isn’t in the Lakes and explains that she’s nowhere else to go, will Daniel give in?

As the week continues, Jodie calls at No.8 for the last of her things and makes out to Shona that there are no hard feelings and she’s staying with a mate. But as Jodie leaves, her expression darkens. Soon, though, Jodie reminds Daniel that he’s supposed to be back from his holiday today, and it’ll do him good to get back to normal.

Later, outside the Kabin, Cassie Plummer lays down the law to Bertie and Dorin and refuses to buy them any sweets. When Jodie makes a dig suggesting she’s too old to look after young children, Cassie marches off. And while Cassie’s distracted, Jodie slips a bag of sweets to Bertie and Dorin.
