What began as a tense encounter at Crimson Lights quickly turned into a verbal showdown filled with insults, old grudges, and power plays. By the time the dust settled, a surprising phone call had left Cane facing an entirely new challenge.
Phyllis Demands an Apology
Spotting Cane at Crimson Lights, Phyllis wasted no time inserting herself into his day.
With her trademark confidence, she approached him and immediately suggested that he owed her an apology.
According to Phyllis, she was never responsible for the circumstances that led to his arrest. In fact, she argued that she had actually helped him and deserved gratitude rather than criticism.
Going even further, she joked that Cane should be buying her a drink for everything she had done on his behalf.
Cane, however, wasn’t interested in revisiting the past.
Instead, he fired back by claiming that while he had already paid for his mistakes, Phyllis had yet to answer for hers.

Phyllis couldn’t resist taking a jab at Cane’s latest success, sarcastically remarking that he seemed to have “failed upward.” Despite everything that had happened, he now found himself in control of Chancellor and positioned for another powerful comeback.
She even mocked the circumstances surrounding his rise, joking that he had somehow earned a corner office simply by donating bone marrow.
Cane wasn’t amused.
In fact, he accused Phyllis of being exactly what she has often been accused of throughout Genoa City—a liar.
That accusation only encouraged her.
Phyllis Boasts About Her New Power
With a grin, Phyllis revealed what she clearly considered her winning card.
Victor Newman may have fired her, but according to Phyllis, she ultimately came out ahead. Not only did she survive the fallout, she ended up with a company of her own.
The company in question?
Arabesque.
As she proudly announced her ownership, Phyllis couldn’t resist poking Cane in the chest and laughing at his reaction.
For a brief moment, Cane appeared visibly uncomfortable.
That was all the encouragement Phyllis needed.
She continued bragging that Arabesque now belonged entirely to her and that she could run it however she pleased.

She argued that Arabesque still carried Cane’s influence and legacy, which made her ownership all the sweeter.
Determined to establish her own vision, she announced plans to transform the company completely.
According to Phyllis, all of Cane’s “stale energy” would soon be gone.
She confidently predicted that under her leadership, Arabesque would grow into an even larger and more successful business than ever before.
A More Personal Conversation
Just as it seemed the confrontation was ending, Cane delivered a surprisingly personal blow.
He asked whether Phyllis’ children had begun speaking to her again.
The question clearly touched a sensitive nerve.
Phyllis admitted that relationships with her children remain strained, though she expressed confidence that reconciliation would eventually happen.
Cane responded by revealing that his own children have gradually started warming to him again.
The exchange briefly softened the tension between them.
In an unexpected moment of sincerity, Phyllis even commended Cane for saving Malcolm’s life, acknowledging that some actions deserve recognition regardless of past conflicts.

The caller was Matt Clark.
Matt explained that he wanted to meet for a drink and hoped to get some advice from Cane. He suggested they spend some time talking and exchanging ideas.
