ASHA TAKES A RISK ON LOVE AGAIN AS NEWCOMER SIENNA COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING IN CORRIE!!!

The course of love rarely runs smooth on Coronation Street, and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) is no exception. Will this time be different?

The troubled youngster is set to find love at at last after suffering so many heartache on the Cobbles.

Asha’s first foray into romance was with her school crush, Corey Brent (Maximus Evans), around the same time as her neighbour and close maternal figure Yasmeen (Shelley King) was escaping the clutches of misogynistic abuser Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew)

Unfortunately, Corey wasn’t much better better and constantly coerced Asha into doing things she wasn’t comfortable with, like stripping on a webcam. The leaking of this footage almost ruined Asha’s life, resulting in severe bullying at school. To make matters worse,. She later discovered that Corey was responsible for the brutal hate-crime attack in which Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) lost his life, leading her to expose Corey’s crimes to the police.

Then along came Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher).

Now this is a controversial one, as many fans wish these two love-birds were still a thing, and if I’m honest, I’m still holding out hope. Who could blame me? As delightful Cobbles pairings go, they were practically up there with Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone (Alan Halsall). Meek and mild wallflower of the Corner Shop meets the quirkiest Victorian Goth to ever toss bacon barms at Roy’s Rolls. A way better love story than Twilight.

Nina supported Asha through her messy breakup with her theaforementioned no-good misogynist thug Corey and their friendship blossomed into something more in February 2021 when they locked lips for the first time in February 2021.

Despite a small breakup after Alya discovered that she wasn’t ready for a physical relationship, the couple were brought back together by the death of Seb, Nina’s boyfriend. Life was too short.

But then Asha began training as a paramedic, where she grew close to her mentor Isla (Emily Dowson). Jealous Nina felt sidelined and isolated, leading her to betray Asha in the worst way possible by kissing her twin brother Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain).

This, sadly yet predictably, brought a heartbreaking end to the gorgeous romance that was Nasha.

After that, Asha just wasn’tin the headspace for romance, after 2025 saw her severely affected by the stress and anxiety from her job as a paramedic, when a particularly traumatic shift led to a mental health crisis and a suicide attempt.

Fortunately, things are looking up. Asha plans to resume her training soon, and she’s moved back in with Nina, a thawing between the pair that many fans hope (including me) may lead to a reunion one day.

However, it seems Asha has got her sights on a new love interest… with a familiar face.

In next week’s trips to the Cobbles, an intervention for Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) turns into Nina, Amy (Ella Mulvaney), and Summer trying to set Asha up with her former supervisor, Sienna (Charlotte Tyree). Will it work?

Having been summoned to the bistro, Summer joins Amy, Asha and Nina hold a makeshift intervention. In light of her recent medical worries and the impact Theo’s murder had on her health, her friends are concerned she’s been overdoing things.

However, Asha’s distracted by the arrival of Sienna. When it becomes clear that Sienna’s date has stood her up, the girls urge Asha to swoop in.

Will Asha take the bull by the horns? And what will Sienna say?
