Here’s your recap for The Young and the Restless episode that aired Friday, June 26, 2026.
Nikki’s Moment of Need

At the hospital, Nikki announced to her family that her vision was deteriorating. A grim and devastated Victor left the room, leaving Nicholas, Victoria, and Claire inside. Nikki apologized to her family that they had to learn about her illness this way. Nick said the only thing that mattered was Nikki getting well. He noted that stubbornness was a Newman family quality.
Vicki and Claire left Nikki’s room and wondered if Victor was leaving. He said it was best. Victor said that he was meeting with Stephanie and Nate; Claire pointed out that Steph is Holden’s mom. Victor told Vicki and Claire that he loved them and then left. Claire and Victotria embraced.
Meanwhile, Nikki told Nick that her head was throbbing, but that’s not why her eyes were closed. She said that she didn’t want to open her eyes and not see anything. Nick wished he could do something to help her. Nikki said there was — focus on his recovery. She told Nick to leave the hospital if being there triggered his recovery. Nick half-quipped that if Nikki didn’t want to see his face, just say so! Nikki reached out to Nick’s face and felt it.
Victoria and Claire re-entered the room. Nikki asked if Victor knew about her condition. Vicki said that he did and that Victor had contacted Nate to help get a surgeon. What else would Victor be doing, Nick rhetorically asked. Vicki informed Nikki that Victor had arranged for the surgeon to come to Genoa City.
Not Without My Mother

At Crimson Lights, Kyle negotiated over the phone with Harrison on how to behave with snakes and his babysitter. Jack arrived and told Kyle that he didn’t want him to go to Markham’s house. Jack said he should be the one to break into the home, but he needed Kyle’s help.
Kyle assured his father that they could bring Diane home safely. Jack told his son that Patty hinted at harm coming to Diane if he didn’t play along. Jack said their only recourse is to break into Markham’s house. Kyle stated that he would call Markham.
Kyle called Markham and left a voicemail message. He claimed to have followed Markham to his house, where he spied his mother. Kyle threatened to call the police. “Well played,” Jack responded.

Meanwhile, Markham informed Diane that Patty had moved into the Abbott mansion at Jack’s request. Diane theorized that Patty made this story up. Diane wondered if Patty had called him. Markham claimed that Jack was the one who phoned.
Diane theorized that either Patty or Markham wanted Diane to believe the worst. Diane wondered if Markham and Patty had organized this whole thing. Markham claimed that Diane was grasping at explanations.
Markham tried to convince Diane that he’d visited Jack at the Abbott mansion, describing it in detail. Markham said that a woman arrived at the house, and she had let herself in with a key; Diane theorized Patty was the woman Markham referred to.
Markham claimed that Jack said he didn’t think Diane could ever forgive him. Confused, Diane wasn’t sure how much of this was real or not. She sat down and became upset that Jack had given up on them. Diane said if Jack felt their marriage was over, then he would have told her himself.
A crying Diane summed up what Markham had presented to her — she had a breakdown on the size of the road, and now, he’s walked away from her. It turned out Diane’s crying was an act. She said silently that Jack would never do what Markham is suggesting.
Diane pretended to be offended that she was always Jack’s second choice. She begged Laurence to help her. Diane asked for something to help her rest. He said he would get her something mild. She thanked him profusely. After he left, Diane smirked, hoping that her plan had worked.
Markham listened to Kyle’s voicemail, demanding to know what was going on or he’d call the police. Markham called Kyle. He tried to assure Kyle that he was mistaken and that there was no way that Kyle could have seen Diane in his home, as it’s too far back. Markham lied that Diane was being treated at a clinic.
Kyle said he’d come to Markham’s house with the police. Markham said that they should meet in town. Kyle suggested Crimson Lights. Markham agreed. Diane appeared and asked the doctor where he was going. Markham said that he needed to get her prescription filled in town. He promised her that they could get her past the trauma that Jack caused. Diane claimed that it might be better if she never had to see him again.
Jack left to go to Markham’s while Kyle waited at Crimson Lights. They were unaware that Patty was lurking nearby and had heard every word they’d said.
Doctor Patient Confidentiality

At Society, Nate told Lily that Nikki was facing a crisis (and shared maybe more than he should have). Lily recalled that Nikki had been in pain earlier. Nate said that Nikki had a mass in her head and she needed surgery. Lily remembered when Neil was blind. Nate said Nikki was in the hospital due to a rapid decline. Nate added that Stephanie is trying to get a doctor to help and perform surgery on Nikki. Nate told Lily that he was keeping up on medical journals. Nate claimed to Lily that he had the best of both worlds by working in business with his family and doling out medical support when asked.
Lily wondered if Nate missed being a doctor. Then, Stephanie explained that her doctor colleague, Dr. Virginia Nottingham, was going to be able to help Nikki. Victor showed up, and Nate explained they’d just gotten promising news. Victor offered to send his jet to fly the doctor to Genoa City. Victor thanked Nate for his help. The mogul said that he’d never forget what he’d done for Nikki.
Stephanie coordinated Nikki’s care. Lily told Nate that she was back in Victor’s good graces. Meanwhile, Victor called Vicki and explained that Dr. Nottingham was coming to Genoa City. Nikki going to a hospital in Chicago wouldn’t be necessary.
Victor went back into Society to thank Stephanie. She promised to give him updates. Lily reminded Victor that Neil was once blind. Victor said he respected Neil. He asked the three (Lily, Nate, and Stephanie) to say a prayer for his wife.
Back at the hospital, Nikki called out for her children, wondering where the doctor was. Nikki said that she couldn’t see as Victor arrived in her room.
