Liz McGraw’s time on the Real Housewives of Rhode Island has come to an end.
On Wednesday, July 1, the reality star, 56, announced she will not be returning to the Bravo series for its second season in a statement shared on Instagram.
“I’m full of gratitude for the amazing opportunity to appear on this show,” McGraw wrote. “As filming for season 2 begins, I have made the decision to take a step back and focus on my family, my work and my passions.”
“The RHORI cast is an amazing group of women who have created something special. I’ll be watching next season, rooting for the continued success of this franchise.”
“For now, I look forward to enjoying this little corner of the world from the other side of the camera,” she concluded.

In the comments, Real Housewives producer Andy Cohen left an invitation for her to return in the future, writing, “The door is always open…. Just sayin’! ❤️🙌.”
Fellow RHORI housewife Ashley Iaconetti wrote, “Enjoy the summa, dolly ❤️.”

Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Tamra Judge also shared a sweet message, writing, “You will be so missed. Hope to see you return one day!”
Later on July 1, McGraw spoke out in another statement on her Instagram Stories, denying that her departure from the show had to do with legal matters. “I realize that for some, it feels good to speculate, hate and defame my character,” she wrote, in part. “… It’s preposterous and people should know how utterly ridiculous it sounds. Sorry to disappoint. It’s wild to me how people feel at liberty to openly state such absurd claims as facts. Now that I have time on my hands, I will start the process of holding those originating and spreading such fiction accountable.”
McGraw’s exit comes after the debut season of RHORI earlier this year. She was one of seven newcomers to join the franchise, along with Iaconetti, Alicia Carmody, Rosie DiMare, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli, Kelsey Swanson and Jo-Ellen Tiberi.

McGraw is known as Rhode Island’s “cannabis queen” and owns and operates The Slater Center, the largest and most successful cannabis dispensary in the state, with her husband.
She recently became a grandmother after Brianna and Gerry McGraw welcomed a daughter.
RHORI is available to stream on Peacock.
