Coronation Street’s Sarah Platt is far from her usual self at the factory next week, which results in Carla Connor-Swain forcing her to take time off work. What is causing Sarah to act so out of sorts?
It’s Fiz who raises the alarm first, when she flags to Carla that Sarah seems to have lost confidence in herself since her attack. However, when Carla suggests to Sarah that Michael could take on some of her workload, it doesn’t go down well…
“Sarah is a proud businesswoman,” shares our Coronation Street source. “She doesn’t like the idea of Michael stepping in for her.
“But things go bad to worse for Sarah after she slips up while making an order. Michael tries do the right thing and cover her back, but it triggers Sarah to lose her temper…”
Despite Michael’s kind attempt to take the blame for Sarah’s mistake, things come to a head in the factory, and it leads Carla to realise that something needs to change.
Afterwards, Carla tries to convince Sarah to step away from work for a while. It appears that this suggestion doesn’t go down too well, as Carla later find Sarah drunk in the Rovers, drowning her sorrows.
Later in the week, Carla calls Sarah into the office and reveals that she’s put Michael in charge of Underworld’s new contract. That’s not all that Carla has to say, though, as she also reiterates her order for Sarah to take some off work…
“Carla knows Sarah well enough to know she’s not in a good place,” explains our insider. “She insists to Sarah that she have a break from Underworld for her own good.
“Carla is no doubt trying to be thoughtful, but it’s yet to be seen how Sarah will deal with being pushed out. Is it really what she needs right now?”
While it is thought that the men who are after Jodie attacked Sarah, viewers know that it was actually Jodie herself who hit her over the head and left her to be discovered by Shona and David.
Jodie gets herself in more bother next week, when Daniel finds out that she lied to him about his son Bertie. Things then get even worse when Shona exposes that Jodie has also fibbed about the date of her birthday…
