Maria encourages Bethany not to miss out on a chance of happiness, while Jodie is also openly supportive, suggesting that Ethan could turn out to be her “Mr Right”.
As soon as nobody is watching, though, Jodie clearly has other ideas…
The trouble kicks off when Bethany asks Jodie questions about her own romantic history. Protective of her sister, Shona warns Bethany to back off.
Taking her revenge, Jodie discreetly grabs Bethany’s phone and texts Ethan.
“Date cancelled. Don’t ever call me again,” Jodie writes, before deleting the evidence so that Bethany is none the wiser.
Later this week, Bethany is baffled when Ethan is a no-show for their scheduled date and then blames her for cancelling it. Will she realise that someone has been up to no good?
Corrie fans have seen Jodie cause mischief all around Weatherfield lately. She has tried to turn Shona’s stepdaughter Lily against her, and frightened Bernie Winter-Alahan by destroying her wedding photo.
The newcomer also stole a rare book from The Kabin to upset Brian Packham after he’d annoyed Lily.
Coronation Street‘s producer Kate Brooks previously said: “Jodie is a really interesting character. She’s a bit of a troublemaker. She’s got a bit of mischief in her eyes.
“All is not what it seems with Jodie. There are a lot of layers to her and the audience are going to have a lot of fun unpeeling those. We’ll be unravelling who Jodie is as a character and what she wants.”
