An Emmerdale favourite has quietly welcomed a brand-new chapter in her life — and fans are over the moon.

Isabel Hodgins has given birth to her first child, sharing a touching glimpse of the moment she and her husband finally heard their baby’s cry for the first time. The 32-year-old actress, best known for playing Victoria Sugden on Emmerdale, announced the happy news on Instagram, sending soap fans into celebration mode.

Isabel revealed that her daughter, Georgie Grace Whitehead, was born in the early hours of 11 February at 1.02am. Alongside the announcement, she posted a heartfelt video filmed in hospital before giving birth, ending with the emotional sound of her newborn crying — a moment that instantly melted hearts online.

The proud new mum confirmed that baby Georgie weighed 8lbs 5oz, and later shared a beautiful black-and-white photo of herself cradling her daughter from her hospital bed. She simply captioned the image: “And then we heard you,” followed by a pink heart emoji — a quiet, powerful line that spoke volumes.
Congratulations flooded in from across the soap world. Co-stars were quick to react, with messages of love and joy pouring into the comments. Danny Miller wrote: “Congratulations you three!! So happy for you all,” while Daisy Campbell added: “Izzy!!! So proud of you! Welcome to the world little one.” Laura Norton echoed the sentiment, calling it the “best ever” and wishing happiness to the new family of three.
Isabel first revealed she was expecting back in August, just months after marrying teacher Adam Whitehead. At the time, she shared a scan photo with the caption: “First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes… Baby Whitehead .” The couple tied the knot in Manchester last April, following their engagement in 2023, a year after they began dating.
Meanwhile, viewers have watched Isabel’s on-screen character Victoria Sugden exit the ITV soap for maternity leave after an intense storyline. Victoria’s recent plot has seen her struggling under the weight of guilt and blackmail following the dramatic Corriedale crossover events — leaving fans speculating about what her future holds once she returns.
For now, however, real life has delivered a far happier storyline — one filled with quiet moments, first cries, and a long-awaited hello.
