Coronation Street fans spot moment Becky Swain makes ‘plan’ amid ‘murder’ prediction
Becky’s return has got in between Lisa Swain and Carla Connor’s relationship in the ITV soap
Coronation Street fans think they have spotted the moment that Becky Swain knew she needed to get rid of Carla Connor after she admitted her plans to get her family back – whatever it takes.
Those who follow the ITV soap are keen to see the back of the former cop, and Lisa Swain’s ex-wife, following her unexpected return from the dead back in September, much to the shock of Lisa.
The timing couldn’t have been more unfortunate, with Becky’s arrival coming just after Lisa and her new partner, Carla, had moved into their first home, No.6 Coronation Street, together, before, after a number of failed proposals, Lisa popped the question to Carla.
Days after their engagement, Becky made a sudden appearance, claiming she had been put in witness protection after an undercover operation went wrong. She returned Betsy’s 18th birthday, with it also revealed that DI Costello was in on faking Becky’s death.
Becky has since been getting in between Lisa and Carla, with a clear intention to get her family back together – whatever it takes – and she’s already succeeded in splitting them up, as Carla, feeling pushed aside by her partner, called time on her and Lisa’s relationship.
But Carla is now working with Lisa’s colleague, DC Kit Green, to try and get to the bottom of what Becky and Costello have been hiding for all this time. However, Costello now being in hospital having been subject to a brutal attack is making things more difficult.
During Wednesday’s (December 10) episode of Corrie, Kit headed to No.6 and revealed that Costello was set to retire in September before Becky’s return. He went on to speak to Carla, telling her they need to stick their plan to expose the bent coppers.
After leaving the factory, Kit bumped into Becky and told her that Carla was drinking herself silly, and that she should tell Lisa to go visit her. However, Becky paid her a visit instead and smugly revealed that she intended to win Lisa back, whatever it took, and that she’d got her way.
But when Carla returned to No.6, Becky was quick to protest Carla was drunk, but she confirmed she was completely sober and that she’d just pretended in order to record Becky’s confession. However, it appeared Lisa didn’t really want to listen, feeling like a pawn in Becky and Carla’s game.
With Lisa having walked out, quickly followed by Betsy, Carla was left alone Becky and told her she wouldn’t give up. “You think you’re so clever, don’t you?” she scowled. “But I’ve got to warn you, I’m a stubborn cow, I’m gonna find out what you are and just what you’ve been up to,” Carla added.
Setting her plan into motion, Carla made a visit of her own to Costello, where he woke up and confirmed Becky was behind his attack, and gave her the words ‘Rhubarb Hill’, seemingly a clue to what she and Kit are trying to expose.
But it was Carla’s warning to Becky which sparked concern, as its left them fearing for the Weatherfield stalwart, who has already been revealed to mysteriously disappear at Christmas, with the current running theory being that she’s kidnapped.
Alongside a clip, @swoosh286 said: “And this here is why she needs to get rid of her permanently, she realises she has met her match in Carla and does the only thing left open for her – kidnap, kill, eliminate the woman standing in her way! #swarla.” @mullin9980 replied: “Indeed but unfortunately for B she’s more than met her match… It’s going to be Carla celebrating Valentines with Lisa and not her.”
@agf1052 shared: “Whatever happens to Carla during Christmas I think this was THE moment for Becky When Carla says that she was meant to tell Lisa to visit Carla in the factory, the only person who told Becky about Carla drinking was Kit I think she just figured out they’re working together.”
But @swarlanations suggested: “The thought of Carla alone and held in a place she can’t get out of because of Becky will surely bring out a darker side of Lisa. A murderous side?” While @Larafk83 added: “I’m calling it now that Becky and John Sugden are working together and Carla and Robert are being held by John somewhere together and Lisa and Aaron go to rescue them in the Corriedale episode. #Swarla.”
