Emma Watson has seemingly confirmed her new romance with billionaire entrepreneur Gonzalo Hevia Baillares after the pair were spotted sharing a passionate kiss during a recent trip to Mexico.
The Harry Potter star, now 35, appeared smitten with the Mexican businessman as they were photographed packing on the PDA at Mexico City airport, surrounded by security guards. The intimate moment has effectively confirmed months of speculation about their relationship.
The pair were first romantically linked back in December after being seen together at the exclusive ski resort of Courchevel in the French Alps. Since then, they have reportedly spent significant time together in Mexico City and even escaped to the luxury beach destination of Punta Mita.
Gonzalo comes from one of Mexico’s wealthiest dynasties. He is the grandson of the late billionaire Alberto Baillères, who passed away in 2022 and was once considered among the richest individuals in the country with an estimated fortune of $8.6 billion.
The Baillères family empire remains one of Mexico’s most powerful, with an estimated combined wealth of around $19 billion. Alberto founded the giant conglomerate Grupo BAL, which controls major businesses including one of Mexico’s largest mining companies and the luxury department store El Palacio de Hierro — often compared to London’s Harrods.
Gonzalo himself has built an impressive career. He currently serves as CEO of the investment firm HBeyond in New York and previously founded a smart locker logistics network across Latin America that is reportedly valued at around $115 million.
According to sources, the businessman is widely regarded as one of Mexico’s most eligible bachelors and has quickly grown serious about his relationship with Watson. A source told the Daily Mail that Gonzalo appears deeply smitten and has already introduced Emma to his parents. The insider added that the pair could soon emerge as one of 2026’s most unexpected power couples.
Before being linked to Watson, Gonzalo was in a high-profile relationship with Spanish-born singer and actress Belinda Peregrín between 2023 and 2024. Their split reportedly proved difficult for the pop star.
Despite the growing attention, neither Watson nor Gonzalo has publicly confirmed the relationship.
The actress, who is famously private about her personal life, was previously rumoured to be dating Oxford University student Kieran Brown last year. She said the ring was a gift created with the help of close friends, explaining that each of them contributed to the design, which features 22 petals.
She explained that the ring symbolises the life she has built and the support network around her, adding that she has never owned anything more meaningful because it represents the community, trust and faith that helped shape her life.
Watson also spoke candidly about the pressure society places on women to marry, saying she refuses to be rushed into marriage simply because it is seen as the expected path.
She admitted that she feels grateful she has not rushed into marriage, saying she believes relationships should never be forced and that she only recently reached a point in her life where she truly understands herself and her purpose.
Looking back on her journey, Watson said that if she had attempted to get married earlier in her life it would have been chaos because she did not yet know herself well enough.
