It truly is the end of an era as Coronation Street waves goodbye to Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) after 7 years.
The beloved fan-favourite character was introduced in 2019 after Roy Cropper (David Neilson) learned that he had a long-lost brother named Richard and a niece named Nina who he knew nothing about.
After Richard died, Nina came to live with Roy on the eponymous Street and soon began working in the ITV soap’s signature cafe, where she became a staple of the cobbles for seven years.
But all good things must come to an end and thus we will soon say goodbye to Nina, with star Mollie is said to have already wrapped filming on Coronation Street – and she’s even landed her next role.
The cobbles star will play Clarice Starling in the UK and Ireland tour of Silence of the Lambs.

A source told Digital Spy: ‘Mollie has created a unique and well loved character in Nina over the past six and a half years and everyone will be sorry to see her go.
‘It is fantastic for Mollie that she has been given this incredible opportunity to play such an iconic role and we wish her all the best for the theatre tour.’

Nina has been at the centre of many stories since rocking up on the cobbles, including the devastating storyline which saw her and boyfriend Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) brutally attacked in a hate-crime in 2021.
Seb subsequently died.
Her relationship with Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) – and of course her wonderful dynamic with Roy – also proved popular with audiences.
