Netflix’s new feel-good drama Remarkably Bright Creatures is getting a lot of mixed reactions online — and a growing number of viewers are not holding back.
While some audiences are calling it “heartwarming” and “beautiful,” others are openly criticizing the film for being too slow, extremely predictable, and overly sweet.
“It’s way too slow and ridiculously sweet. I kept waiting for something interesting to happen, but it never really did.”
Another viewer added:
“Extremely predictable. You can see every twist coming from a mile away. Cute octopus though.”
Despite strong performances from Sally Field and the charming talking octopus Marcellus, a significant portion of the audience feels the story lacks tension and depth, making it feel overly sentimental and slow-paced for its nearly two-hour runtime.
While the film has its fans who enjoy the wholesome, comforting vibe, the criticism about its pacing and predictability is growing louder as more people finish watching.

It seems Remarkably Bright Creatures is becoming one of those movies that sharply divides audiences — some find it touching and healing, while others find it too slow and saccharine.
