What happened on The Young and the Restless
The drama with Dominic’s (Ethan Ray Clark) kidnapping didn’t end with his return and with Mariah (Camryn Grimes), his abductor, going off to get mental health treatment at the hospital. There are two more victims here. We’re talking about Devon (Bryton James) and Abby (Melissa Ordway). Dom’s parents went on automatic mode when they were searching for their son. They couldn’t fall apart. How could they? Their son needed them. Upon his safe return, Devon and Abby were there when Dominic had a nightmare, as his young mind tried to process why he and his aunt Mariah had gone on the road to play hide-and-go-seek and eat at diners. In today’s episode, Devon shared his thoughts on Mariah not serving jail time with Lily (Christel Khalil), and Abby did the same with Daniel (Michael Graziadei), given his closeness to Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), Mariah’s wife. Lily assured Devon that Mariah would have to answer what she’d done, but Devon asked how? He pointed out that Dominic might have some issues down the line, especially when Mariah is released from treatment. Devon argued that cases like Mariah’s slip through the cracks all the time. Across town at Society, Abby shared with Daniel that she broke out Dominic’s old baby monitor so she could keep a better eye (or ear) on Dom because she’s afraid for his safety. Later, Devon caught up with Abby at Society and the two compared notes. Unlike other couples who are at odds with each other on The Young and the Restless, Devon and Abby are refreshingly on the same page! Yes, Abby suggested that they think this through. But Devon is determined to make sure that those who aren’t protecting his son will face opposition! Too often, soaps wrap up adventure capers in a bow with a perpetrator going off to get some help, but this time, there are going to be ramifications!
