Coronation Street fans cry ‘leave her alone’ after another death ‘hint’ for legendary character
Fans of the ITV soap have spotted what they think is more foreshadowing towards their impending death
Coronation Street fans have been left pleading for a legendary Weatherfield resident to be ‘left alone’ after they spotted what they think is more foreshadowing towards their impending death.
Tracy Barlow was born on-screen in an episode in January 1977. She is the daughter of Ray Langton and Deirdre Barlow. However, she had little to do with her father and was later adopted by Deirdre’s new husband Ken Barlow.
It wasn’t until 2002 that Kate Ford picked up the role, following in the footsteps of Christabel Finch (1977-1983), Holly Chamarette (1985-1988) and Dawn Acton (1988-1999). Kate was in the role from 2002 to 2007 before she reprised the role for a brief stint from late May to early June 2010, returning full-time from December 2010.
But Corrie fans fear her time could be coming to an end in Weatherfield. Earlier this month, there were celebrations for Maggie Driscoll’s 65th birthday and as well as discovering details of her dark past thanks to the use of flashbacks, the visit to the cobbles also featured a number of Weatherfield stalwarts, including Ken Barlow.
The character, who has been played by William (Bill Roache) since the very first episode in 1960, was seen heading to the Rovers, where he told Roy Cropper about a story his late wife Deirdre had told him. “Deirdre had a friend who sold her house and bought a cabin on a cruise ship,” he said.
In response, Roy explained what this would entail: “I’ve read about this. They sell cabins like flats. Perpetual travel for the rest of one’s days. It has a certain romantic appeal.”
When Rita Tanner questioned whether Ken liked the idea, and could be tempted to sell Number 1, he was unable to think of any reason why he wouldn’t want to live in a cabin. Then, when Ken’s daughter, Tracy, arrived, Rita shocked her by saying that Ken had sold his house in order for the pub landlord to build an extension, leaving the cobbles stalwart upset with her reaction.
After opening up to Rita about Tracy’s reaction, she told Ken: “As you get older, you cherish your relationships more and more,” Rita said. “Especially the ones that are close to us. Believe me, money means nothing compared to spending time with a loved one.”
Later, once back at No.1, Ken told his daughter: “Tracy, there was never any serious intent to sell to the Rovers, nor was there a serious offer. But what is so dismaying and so predictable is that your initial feelings weren’t for my well-being, but for your inheritance.”
Tracy responded: “That is a terrible thing to say. Oh, go on, I admit it. You sailing the Seven Seas with a load of geriatric widows didn’t immediately strike me as the best use of the money.” But Ken replied: “My money.” Realising her father’s point, Tracy went on: “Let me finish: but I realise the money’s not important. You’re here, and you’re relatively healthy…” and the pair agreed to start making the most of their time together, rather than bickering.
It quickly sparked fears that Tracy could find herself coming into danger sometime soon, and that concern was only made worse during Tuesday’s (December 16) edition of the ITV soap when Tracy had words with Cassie Plummer. The latter was heard moaning about Tracy while on the phone to boyfriend Steve McDonald, aka Tracy’s ex-husband, as he was out in his cab, with Tracy his passenger listening to every word.
Tracy seethed as she listened and Cassie didn’t hold back when she said that she’d “happily dance on that sour-faced cow’s grave”, leaving Corrie fans thinking that it was another sign Tracy will be in danger, especially as they think she has been spotted in a new trailer for the upcoming Corrie and Emmerdale crossover episode.
