Peter’s mum, Thea, who lives in Australia, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s in 2023. In a heartbreaking development, the singer revealed that she can now no longer speak.

Just last month, Peter confessed his fears that Christmas could be the final one his mum might see, after her Parkinson’s had “progressed quite a bit.” Now, the 52-year-old has offered fans another glimpse into his family’s private pain by posting a tender video of his young daughter Belle during a FaceTime call with her grandparents.

In the touching clip, Belle can be seen blowing kisses to her grandfather in Australia before trying to grab the phone from her dad so she can keep showering them with love. Despite the sadness behind the moment, Peter said he is trying to treasure every second.

“No matter what happens in my life, moments like these for me are the most precious,” he told his followers.

He continued with a raw and honest admission: “Sadly, now that mum can’t speak anymore. However, Belle has a wonderful daily conversation with her Bapou (Greek for grandfather), and as you can see, they adore each other.

“Melts my heart every time. She does get to see her yiayia (Greek for grandmother) daily but sadly, the Parkinson’s is taking its toll. I cherish every moment I have with both my parents and my children.”

The emotional post quickly racked up more than 21,000 likes and was flooded with messages of love and support. One fan wrote: “I love that your children get to see them even though they are so far away.” Another added: “Parkinson’s is a cruel disease… treasure every day as it comes, as hard as it is.”

Peter has always spoken openly about how close he is to his parents, and last month he admitted he fears the worst when it comes to his mum’s health.

“Of course I worry this could be Mum’s last Christmas. She’s very delicate. Her Parkinson’s has progressed quite a bit,” he said. “Her speech is almost gone, she’ll say a word or two — it’s heartbreaking, because she’s our world, our pillar of strength.”

He also shared his concern for his 92-year-old father, who has been by his mum’s side every single day.

“I see Dad and he’s getting delicate now too. His memory’s going, but I am so grateful they reached that milestone I prayed for — 70 years of marriage in September.”

Describing the emotional toll, Peter added: “It’s a raw pain. I’m a grown man, but I still can’t accept in my heart that these things happen to the people I love the most.”

The couple, who recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, were even honoured with a card from King Charles — a moment Peter says he will treasure forever.
