Coronation Street continues airing a change of direction for Hope Dobbs as she offers a sound word of advice to Will Driscoll amid his ordeal with groomer Megan Walsh. The two teens have grown closer after Megan’s inappropriate relationship with Will came to light recently, with Hope possibly harbouring some romantic feelings for her friend.
In scenes airing this Sunday 7 June, Will confides in Hope about his future as an athlete. The teen tells his pal that he’s considering giving up athletics as it reminds him of Megan, but Hope urges him to give it more thought.
Hope tells Will that quitting athletics doesn’t just allow Megan to keep having power over him, but he’s also letting her stifle his talent.
Meanwhile, Sam Blakeman is struggling with his mental health but has been keeping it a secret from his loved ones. Jealous of Hope and Will’s friendship, Sam watches them from afar as his mind is spinning.
Is Will going to take Hope’s advice? And will they both realise that Sam isn’t in a good place?
“Hope is becoming a true friend to Will,” points out our cobbles source. “She’s giving Will the space to open up at his own pace, which is exactly what he needs after the dramas he’s faced with his family.
“Hope hates the thought of Will giving up his passion due to Megan’s manipulative behaviour, but whether he’s ready to return to training remains to be seen.”
Corrie has seen Hope coming into her own in recent storylines. This week, she also supports teacher Daniel Osbourne after he breaks down at school after being trolled online and his relationship with Megan was exposed as a cover for the groomer.
Will Corrie revisit Hope’s ‘wild child’ past or has she fully embraced her new, more mature and caring self?
