“Jodie is on that trajectory, but David and Shona are a really strong and united couple. They adore each other and they’ve been through a lot.”
“We’ve obviously got David and Shona’s baby daughter Harper still in hospital,” Brooks continued. “Ultimately, Harper will come home and the stresses of family life will start to really take their toll.
“We’ll explore whether Jodie is able to exploit those weaknesses within that relationship. It’s whether she’s able to tempt David over to the dark side. She wants to punish Shona for leaving her, so she’s certainly going to try and come between them.
“But as I say, David and Shona are a pretty solid couple. It’s whether they can unite and see Jodie for who she is – and what she is – in time!”
On a brighter note, Jodie has a surprising new friendship on the way as she strikes up an unexpected bond with Daniel Osbourne.
Corrie explores Daniel’s fragile mental health in the coming weeks, as he struggles to move on from the shocking revelations surrounding his ex-girlfriend Megan Walsh. Could Jodie’s influence be a help or a hindrance to Daniel at this tough time?
“Jodie’s story will dovetail off into Daniel’s story,” Brooks confirmed. “An unlikely little friendship will be formed, which I don’t think many people will see coming, but it’s a really different insight into what makes them both tick.
“For the first time, Daniel’s able to be truthful about how he feels. Similarly, Jodie’s able to be quite truthful with Daniel, because he’s in quite a dark place. There are some interesting dynamics between them.”
