Katie appeared on the podcast, Gabbing with Gib, on March 13, where she shared an honest update on Something About Her. “It’s going really good,” Katie said during the episode. “It’s definitely been such an educational couple of years, almost.”
“It will be two years in May,” she continued. “A lot of stuff to iron out and learn in the first year. For the first while, the first six months, we were extremely busy.”
But, she admitted on the podcast they had to work out a few kinks when they first opened, Like “that we couldn’t quite work into our catering side of things or be available on delivery online, whether it’s Uber Eats or Postmates, because we just still needed to figure out what our prep schedule is going to look like,” she continued. “How much do we need to prep? There was so much to figure out.”
“It was hard to manage all that while we were simply trying to serve everyone that lined up that way,” she noted.

However, the business was able to get everything under control and now handles online orders. “It’s been wonderful to work into more online orders because I feel like we have so much business that we can do online. The same with catering,” she explained during the episode. “We’re really trying to work more into the catering. Just different things to get people excited coming in, doing limited runs on sandwiches. But it’s just a lot of fun.”
“We have a really wonderful community in West Hollywood. A lot of return, repeat customers, people in the neighborhood. I love a neighborhood restaurant vibe, so that’s been a lot of fun,” she concluded. “But I’m excited for the future.”
Ariana Madix on managing the Something About Her sandwich shop with Katie Maloney
Both Katie and Ariana are so busy in their careers. But they’re still able to manage running Something About Her amid all of their exciting opportunities. Ariana shared some insight into their work dynamic in an August 2024 interview with Interview. “It’s a lot,” she said. “I’m really lucky and grateful that Katie, my business partner, is incredible. She’s holding down the fort, killing it every day in LA while I’m here in New York. When we get to be in the shop together, it’s the best.”
Ariana also spoke with People StyleWatch in March 2025, where she continued to share updates on the sandwich shop. “It’s been really fun,” she said. “It’s really nice to have a place to go, it’s lovely when we get to meet people who come in.”
