“It’s definitely a balancing act”, Kit actor Jacob Roberts said.
“It makes things very difficult when you have to interrogate someone intensely in one scene, and then the very next scene you’re seeing them for a pint in the pub. You have to put the ‘police head’ on and then switch back to being a friend.
“It’s like playing two different characters, but ultimately, it’s just two different sides of the same man.
“One side is loyal and the other is determined to get justice – no matter what.”
The soap confirmed ages ago that the dead body would be one of five characters: Carl Webster, Jodie Ramsey, Maggie Driscoll, Megan Walsh or Theo Silverton. All the characters have made enemies of other residents, especially in the last few weeks.
Another aspect of the reveal’s aftermath that the soap will explore is what will happen to the surviving characters.
“Going forward, there’s so many consequences for each individual character”, the soap’s producer Kate Brooks recently said.
“Then we’ve also got the ‘who did it?’ element – that’s a big story going forward, as well as unpacking what’s going on with all those other characters. It’s very complex but satisfying and enjoyable as well.”
