KYLIE Jenner’s former assistant has opened up about her decision to quit working for her billionaire boss, blaming their tight-knit bond.
Victoria Villarroel shared details about working for the Kylie Cosmetics mogul on her Better Half podcast, which she co-hosts with Kylie’s longtime gal pal Stassie Karanikolaou.
Victoria worked for Kylie, 28, for five years before deciding it was time to quit, revealing on the podcast that their relationship evolved over time from a professional relationship to one she felt was unprofessional.
She started working with the Kardashian family via Jenner Communications, headed up by Kris Kenner.
Victoria said on the podcast that after “about a week” of working there, she was brought on to work with Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
She noted on the show that it was “too difficult” to work for both of them, so she opted to work for just Kylie.
She sent her sister to be Kendall’s assistant in her place.
Victoria started as house manager, but eventually became her personal assistant before being promoted to executive assistant.
“I remember like it was yesterday – this was year five,” she recalled on the podcast.
“We were in the kitchen and Kylie was like, ‘Vic, I need my laptop, it’s upstairs,’ and I was like, ‘Oof, who’s gonna get that?’”
She continued, “I said something crazy like, ‘Oof, that seems far, I don’t want to go get your laptop.’
“Obviously me and Kylie had a working relationship, but you can’t not get so close with a person you see every single day.
“You know everything about them, you’re with them at all times – good or bad.”
According to Victoria, the feeling was mutual.
She said on her podcast that she and Kylie both agreed when it “got to that point” that her time as Kylie’s assistant was over.
“I remember being so nervous and thinking, ‘Am I making the right decision? What if I’m leaving the best job I could ever have?’” she said.
Victoria shared on the podcast that people were “in [her] ear” urging her not to leave a job “people would die for.”
Ultimately, she decided she had to leave and Kylie supported her decision.
“She’s the most understanding person, she was like, ‘Oh my God, Vic, I want you to thrive and I’m going to be here supporting you and I love you so much,’” she recalled.
Victoria quit as Kylie’s assistant in 2020 with reports surfacing at the time that she left to pursue a career as an influencer.
The pair remain close friends to this day.
After Victoria, Kylie hired Maguire Amundsen, who has garnered attention for her close relationship to the reality star as well as her lavish lifestyle.
She is originally from Oklahoma City and attended Vanderbilt University before going on to work for William Morris Talent and awards shows like the CMTs.
