Fox News hosts gush over Rob Reiner in stark contradiction to unhinged Trump post
Fox News hosts Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino took time to mourn the death of Rob Reiner and his wife, despite President Donald Trump’s major blow to the late star on Truth Social

The latest episode of America’s Newsroom saw conservative co-hosts Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino reminisce on the legendary career Rob Reiner, 78, pioneered following the murder of the director and actor.
Fox’s Hemmer described Reiner as a ‘Hollywood icon,’ using terms such as ‘classic films’ and ‘beloved actor’ to describe the star’s remaining legacy. Then, Hemmer and Perino reflected on his iconic role in All in the Family as Mike. Perino even mentioned a scene that saw the show’s memorable Archie Bunker character make fun of Reiner’s for the way he put on his shoes.
Perino described the scene as ‘one of the funniest bits’ ever, crediting Reiner’s comedic talents for the laughs she shared with her father as a child. In a shocking move, the pair even shared a tweet from former Democratic president Barack Obama as he paid tribute to the slain star.
But Fox viewers were left especially shocked as the co-host’s statements played a stark contrast to President Donald Trump’s message regarding the death of Reiner and his wife, Michele, 68.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform following the news of Reiner’s murder in his Hollywood home, writing, “A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.

“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!” he finished.
Despite supporters and critics of Trump alike being conditioned to expect very frequent yet unhinged social media posts from the President, most people were left shocked by the Truth Social post, which came just hours after the actor and his wife’s death.
Over on X, one person called him out, writing, “this is one of the most psychotic things Trump has ever posted.”

“Is this my “nah, that’s fake. Wait, wtf, it’s real? ” Trump quote of the week?” another asked.
A third critic wrote, “Jesus Christ this is so bad…I wish I was genuinely shocked by President Trump’s response…but alas I am not, and that’s the sad part…keep the Reiner family lifted up in prayer.”
“And the legacy media will just ignore it but go on about now the left needs to watch their tone and rhetoric. Media normalized this,” someone else added in.
Reiner and his wife were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14. The pair were reportedly found covered in stab wounds.

Reiner was a beloved director and actor, known for his roles in iconic films such as The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Stand By Me, This is Spinal Tap, A Few Good Men, New Girl, and many more projects.
According to several news reports, officers were called to Reiner’s residence at 3:40 pm on December 14, the LAPD shared, labeling the investigation as an apparent double homicide case.
The senior leadership of the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide unit also responded to the scene. A neighbor also told ABC News that fellow legendary actors Billy Crystal and Larry David were spotted at the Reiner house after police had arrived to investigate.
Police continue to investigate the crime scene as fans anxiously await an official suspect being named.
