Ruth Langsford celebrated her 66th birthday in the most fabulous way imaginable—by jetting off to Cannes for an unforgettable girls’ trip. The Loose Women star made her birthday one to remember as she partied with close friends, including her bestie Lizzie Cundy, and shared the joyous moments with fans on Instagram.

Ruth looked absolutely radiant in a glittering black dress as she danced the night away at La Petite Maison. A live band performed some classic hits, making the night even more memorable. Earlier in the day, Ruth and her crew enjoyed a lively alfresco lunch, complete with a sparkler as everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to her. Ruth, ever the social butterfly, posted a sunny snap with the caption: “So this is 66! Spending my birthday with friends in the sunshine in the South of France. Bliss! Happy St. Patrick’s Day.”

This year’s celebration comes after Ruth’s recent revelations that she’s “open” to the idea of dating again following her divorce from long-time partner Eamonn Holmes. Ruth and Eamonn parted ways in May 2024 after 14 years of marriage, though Eamonn quickly moved on with relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, 44, who is 22 years his junior. Ruth, on the other hand, took some time for herself, but she told Amanda Holden on Heart FM’s Breakfast Show that she’s now ready to explore the possibility of new love.

Asked if she was open to dating again, Ruth said, “Never say never. Right now I’m perfectly happy. I’ve got a full life, great friends, and lots of work. I’m going forward with an open mind and an open heart.” But when it came to dating apps, Ruth had a firm stance: “Oh god, I won’t be swiping.” Instead, Ruth shared her vision of love the old-fashioned way: “If I’m going to do it, I might just walk out and bump into someone, have a coffee, and see what happens!”
