Coronation Street‘s Sarah Platt faces a life-changing decision next week as her partner Kit Green finally pops the question. With her guilty secret still haunting her, can she really say yes?
Kit has been waiting for the right moment to propose and finally makes his move in upcoming scenes – still oblivious to Sarah’s shocking killer cover-up.
In a private moment at their flat, Kit gently takes Sarah’s hands and declares how much he loves her.
An overwhelmed Sarah quickly becomes emotional, wondering whether she can keep living a lie.
“The proposal comes as no real surprise – Sarah recently found the engagement ring after all,” points out our Corrie spy. “Kit originally planned to propose a few weeks ago, but his plans were disrupted by the dramatic dinner party that took place.
“Later that week, the element of surprise was ruined when Sarah stumbled across the engagement ring and Kit confirmed that he’d wait for the perfect moment to ask for her hand in marriage! But now that the moment has come, how will Sarah feel about it?”
Sarah is currently in turmoil as she continues to hide the fact that she killed Theo Silverton and teamed up with Gary Windass to cover up the crime.
Kit has been investigating the mystery alongside DS Lisa Connor-Swain, although he’s taken off the case this week.
The detective has become frustrated over not being able to reach a breakthrough in the investigation, unaware that the culprit is living under his own roof.
Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah, recently told Inside Soap‘s Soap Scoop podcast: “She’s really internally struggling about what will happen if [Kit] finds out! Because she does love him and she really wants the relationship to work.
“But she’s also very aware of ‘would he cover for her?’ and ‘should he have to?’ Because I think that’s another thing – she’s really struggling with a hell of a lot of guilt. If he knew, it would compromise his job. It would compromise their relationship. And I think she’s struggling with the fallout from it, really.”
