Ben Hollingsworth, star of Virgin River, has finally spoken out about the shocking motorcycle accident involving his character Dan Brady that marked the end of the latest season of Netflix’s popular romantic drama.
The actor has admitted that he is aware of whether Brady survives or not, but for now, he’s keeping quiet on the matter.
The newest instalment of Netflix’s successful series saw Mel Monroe (portrayed by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) contemplating their next move after getting hitched.
Mel’s patient Marley (Rachel Drance) presents them with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to adopt her baby. However, the newborn’s life hangs in the balance as he is born with a severe heart condition.
As the infant is rushed to Los Angeles for specialist treatment, Brady experiences a devastating event when he crashes his motorbike on a stretch of road, reports the Express.

The crash happens shortly after he rekindles his on-again, off-again romance with Brie (Zibby Allen) atop the very same vehicle that could have caused life-altering injuries or potentially even worse.
“I couldn’t believe it. At first, I was like, ‘Is Brady done on the show?’” Hollingsworth subsequently revealed to Entertainment Weekly.
“The moment you read it, it does send a little chill down your back and make you think, is this the end?”
Brady’s accident may have abruptly ended his long-standing ‘will they, won’t they’ relationship with Brie.
At the very least, viewers will probably see a lengthy and agonising recovery from severe injuries in the upcoming series. At worst, Virgin River might be bidding farewell to one of the programme’s most cherished characters after delighting Netflix audiences for seven years.

“It’s tragic, and Brady is such a tragic figure,” Hollingsworth went on.
“The guy should never get involved with gambling, because he would never win anything, ever. He’s got the worst luck in the world.”
Whilst the indicators aren’t presently looking positive for Brady emerging unscathed, the actor did point out to audiences that this isn’t his first brush with death.
Having made it through a stabbing incident in series four and walking away from a blaze without harm just days prior to the collision, Hollingsworth remains hopeful that he’ll make it through.

‘Dearest gentle reader’, as the fourth season of Bridgerton follows second son Benedict love story, there’s a way to watch this fairytale-like season for less.
Sky is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its new Sky Stream TV bundles, including the £15 Essential TV plan. This lets customers watch live and on-demand TV content without a satellite dish or aerial and includes the new season of Bridgerton.
“He’s a durable dude. He’s durable!” he remarked. “So I’m going to hold out hope that he stays durable.
“I think Brie has a thing for guys in a hospital gown, because there was her next to Brady when he got stabbed, then her next to Mike when he got shot, maybe this is all just one giant scheme to seal the deal.
“If we see Brady wearing a hospital gown in season 8, it’s a good sign.”
Virgin River is available to stream on Netflix.
