Kelvin Fletcher’s wife Liz Fletcher was visibly emotional during an unexpected and heart-warming moment in the upcoming fourth series of Fletcher’s Family Farm, set to air this Sunday.

Liz Fletcher was left overwhelmed with emotion after discovering that the family’s beloved dog, Ginger, is expecting puppies — a moment she later described as some of the “best news” she had received in a long time.
The touching revelation comes in series four of ITV’s Fletcher’s Family Farm, which returns to screens this weekend and promises a mix of farm challenges, family milestones, and emotional surprises.
A Special Patient — And A Nervous Wait

In the episode, viewers see Liz gently cradling Ginger as the family prepares for a vet visit — but this time, the patient isn’t one of the farm’s usual animals.
“Here is your patient,” Liz explained to the vet. “Not your usual farm animal. But it would be good to know, as we are all guessing, and it would be good to know if it is a yes or no.”
She went on to reveal that Ginger had been showing several signs that something might be different.
“There have been a few symptoms or signs,” Liz said. “I think she has been behaving differently.”
When asked to describe those changes, Liz listed them carefully: “Eating a lot, then off her food, then very clingy. I think she is getting wider. She does seem a bit wider.”
The Scan That Changed Everything
As vet Hugo began scanning Ginger’s stomach, the tension in the room was clear. Then came the confirmation the family had been hoping for.
“You can see a puppy there,” Hugo told Liz, as the scan revealed the unmistakable image of a developing pup.
Liz gasped as he continued: “That is a cross-section through a puppy. You can see ribs, legs.”
Moments later, the emotion intensified when Liz realised there was movement on the screen.
“Oh my god, I can see it moving,” she exclaimed, before Hugo revealed there were two distinct puppies, one visible on either side.
“The Best News You’ve Ever Given Me”
Speaking after the scan, Liz struggled to contain her happiness.
“Hugo, I think that is the best news you’ve ever given me,” she said.
When the vet jokingly asked if that was even better news than the cows, Liz laughed before replying honestly: “Well, it is a close one — but she is just our baby. Oh my god, you are having pups.”
She later added simply: “Very happy that it is good news.”
What’s Ahead in Series Four
The emotional moment is just one part of what viewers can expect from the new series.
According to the official synopsis for the opening episode, Liz and Kelvin Fletcher plan to double the size of their flock and herd, bringing in local farmhand Josh to help manage the growing workload.
Meanwhile, daughter Marnie is introduced to her new Jacobs sheep as she makes plans for the farming year ahead, the boys take a rare break from farm life to swap tractors for motorbikes, and the family finally receives the long-awaited green light to begin rebuilding the farmhouse.
When and Where to Watch
Fletcher’s Family Farm returns to ITV this Sunday at 11:30am, with series four promising heartfelt family moments, real-life farming challenges, and emotional surprises that continue to resonate with viewers.
