DANCING for her husband in a pair of leggings and heels, Roxanne Hoyle looked like half the woman she once was.

In just seven years the 41-year-old has gone from an unknown living off £20 a week to being a household name with more Christmas number ones than The Beatles – but we can reveal that behind Rox and husband Mark’s huge success lies deep unease and a dark truth that threatens to rock the Ladbaby brand.

An insider said: “Rox and Mark have fallen from public favour dramatically over the last year or so.

“Their cheery charity persona has been questioned repeatedly and cheating and groping claims raised eyebrows.

“Rox’s weight loss is currently a very hot topic and people are convinced she’s not being honest about how she’s done it. There is a lot of speculation about fat jabs but actually the reason is much more tragic – the horrendous fatshaming she endured at the height of the cheating claims, really harmed her.

“The constant scrutiny is really taking its toll on the pair – there is some tension about what is next for them and what route they want to take.”

Trust is something we really pride ourselves on in our relationship and Mark doesn’t lie.

LadBaby began back in 2016 when Mark started documenting his life as he became a dad for the first time. They are now parents to two sons, Phoenix, nine, and Kobe, seven.

No one could have predicted just how big the couple would become, but their fairytale came crashing down when they were rocked by a video that emerged online where Mark was seemingly ‘groping’ another woman and it wasn’t Rox.

The clip was initially sent to Mark with demands for money, that steadily rose to £10k. The concerned couple contacted the police and hoped it would just disappear – but shortly afterwards it was uploaded online and went viral.

It led to a stream of abuse aimed at Mark, but the impact on Rox was much more severe.

Speaking about the impact of the video, she later said: “I’d get a lot of abuse too from people saying, ‘No wonder he’s doing that, you’re too fat.’”

The trolling sparked a shift in Roxanne and despite looking amazing anyway, she did start to lose weight.

In the past, Rox made a big deal about how ‘normal’ she looked and was proud of her figure, telling us: “I might not look like the women you see on the telly or cover of magazines, I’m loud, curvy, colourful and energetic.”

Roxanne hasn’t addressed her weight loss recently, but has said she loves exercise, often starting her day by running on the treadmill.

But fans have been desperate to know more – on her latest video one person wrote: “You look amazing, how have you lost so much weight?”

She has been open about how the comments have affected her, admitting: “It’s hard sometimes. It does affect me, but I’ve become more resilient.”

The ‘cheating’ scandal drove the couple closer together and Rox was adamant the man in the video isn’t Mark.

They refused to address it at the time but they later wrote a book – that became a Sunday Times bestseller – and Roxanne commented on the controversy.

She shared: “I knew it wasn’t Mark in the film. He knew it wasn’t him.

“The first thing he said was, ‘That’s not f***ing me’, and he was incredibly disturbed by it.

“It was all so weird.”

The couple claim that the video is “fake” and “possibly made with AI”.

Our insider said: “Rox fully believes Mark but the whole thing has naturally cast doubt in her mind and while they are strong, there is underlying tension.

“They are very rarely apart these days – even closer than before because they’ve found it leaves no room for speculation if they are always together.”

She has maintained “we’re solid in our marriage”, throughout it all. They tied the knot in Vegas ten years ago in May.

CAREER HIGHS AND TORY OUTRAGE

Around that time of the video public opinion really started to shift and the duo were branded “grifters” amid accusations of them profiting from the charity work.

And when they refused to reveal who they voted for, they were branded Tories and it’s still being used as an insult against them today.

In 2019, Mark – who fans had viewed a typical working class man – said in an interview with The Guardian that he was sure the Conservative government was “gonna do a great job”.

Before finding fame, Rox has said the family were living on £20 a week and had to choose between buying food or nappies for her kids. They lived in a one bed flat before having the cash to move somewhere bigger.

The LadBaby brand is said to be worth over £1.3 million, thanks to their very successful YouTube channel and business ventures, such as a collection of books.

They are the first musical act in British history to secure five Christmas No. 1 hits, surpassing the record set by the Beatles.

Their novelty songs include “We Built This City”, “I Love Sausage Rolls”, “Don’t Stop Me Eatin’”, “Sausage Rolls for Everyone” and “Food Aid” and they’ve collaborated with huge names such as Elton John and Ed Sheeran.

Roxanne also landed a big money deal with In The Style for her very own fashion range.

They have also brought out numerous books themed on Greg the Sausage Roll and undertaken various other paid promotions across their platforms.

But in 2023 they shocked fans when they revealed they wouldn’t be making a Christmas song as they could no longer face the controversy surrounding it.

Almost from the beginning, it was alleged that they were pocketing money from the songs after saying it would go to food bank charity the Trussell Trust.

Trussell spoke out to deny the claims, but it wasn’t enough to stop the pair being targeted.

Mark has said on the issue: “I think there were a lot of misconceptions around money.

I never take what we have for granted

“I really struggled with that, because it’s one thing people going, ‘We don’t like your teeth, we don’t like your voice.’ But when there’s this narrative going around that we stole the money and we profited from it, it was really difficult to take.”

The insider added: “It’s pretty sad really that they aren’t making their charity single anymore but they were fast becoming the most hated couple online so something had to give.

“People are still finding things to find fault with, but they are determined to get the fans back on side.”

Speaking about making money, Roxanne previously told The Sun: “This year we bought our lovely home in Nottingham so that our kids would always have a roof over their heads, but we’re still the same people we were in that tiny one-bedroom flat. I haven’t made a single extravagant purchase since Ladbaby took off, because I’m aware that this could so quickly come to an end.

“I still love a visit to Poundland, I don’t wear designer clothes and you’ll often catch me browsing the shelves of Home Bargains.

“And forget about fancy cars – we both drive standard runarounds.

In the last few months alone have been on a gifted trip to Disney in Florida, and another on the world’s biggest cruise ship around the Caribbean – they’ve visited Downing Street to help make sure families have access to baby formula and they won Social Media Broadcaster of the Year at the TRIC Awards.

It seems that it will take more than trolls to bring down the king and queen of sausage rolls.
