Dorit Kemsley is taking her fractured friendship with Kyle Richards to a dangerous new level by casting doubt on the true nature of Kyle’s separation from Mauricio Umansky.

Days after Kyle admitted on camera that she has yet to officially sign divorce papers despite being separated for over a year, Dorit, 49, suggested that the delay isn’t about “lingering love,” but rather a desperate attempt to keep a web of hidden assets from being exposed in court.
Dorit alleges that a formal legal split would require a level of financial transparency that could blow wide open Mauricio’s “shady” international business ties and the couple’s true net worth.
“I think people will be surprised by what’s actually under the hood of that marriage,” Dorit told a group of producers in a leaked clip shared on January 29. “Obviously, Kyle wants to play the victim of a broken heart, but you know, she’s actually the gatekeeper of a very complicated fortune.”
“There’s a lot of fear. It’s the hard part of their reality, but it’s making this ‘slow’ divorce necessary for both of them to stay out of a courtroom,” she added.
According to Dorit, the hesitation to finalize the divorce began when forensic accountants were reportedly mentioned during a private dinner.
“It started as a conversation about protecting their four daughters, but people kind of picked up on the real panic,” she admitted. “Mauricio’s company is in a big expansion phase. All the offshore accounts, the real estate holding companies… It was like the worst kept secret that they couldn’t afford a public audit.”
“They aren’t lying about the split, but they aren’t telling the truth about the money. They are trying to figure out the best way to divide things without alerting the IRS or their business partners. And ultimately, they decided they don’t want to give the court a reason to look at their books,” she continued.
Although Kyle has maintained that her privacy is for the sake of her family, Dorit confirmed her belief that the decision to stall the filing was a calculated business move.
“They decided to just kind of keep the band-aid on,” she explained. “The last thing they were ever going to do is make a decision that would lead to a federal investigation or the loss of their agency’s reputation.”
Regarding a potential “smoking gun” in Mauricio’s business dealings, Dorit said she has heard whispers of irregularities for years.
“We don’t know everything. There’s no playbook for how they’ve moved money around. We were very much on the same page for years where like, we knew they had a lifestyle that didn’t always match the liquid cash,” she reasoned.
That said, Dorit confirmed she is prepared to address these financial questions during the upcoming reunion and added that she is no longer interested in protecting Kyle’s “perfect” image.
“We’re gonna do the reunion together next month. We’ll do the ‘sit down’ together. This isn’t a typical breakup where there’s just a third party involved. There’s absolutely some financial manipulation,” she shared. “They got each other’s back because they have to. They still have joint liabilities, so in a world where it makes sense to stay ‘married’ on paper, they will stay married.”
Dorit then acknowledged the irony of her own financial headlines and mentioned the irony of Kyle’s silence regarding Mauricio’s recent legal hurdles.
“We don’t really plan to let this drop until the truth comes out,” she noted. “I just hope that the fans find the clarity they deserve, whatever the heck that looks like for the Richards-Umansky empire.”
