This Morning’s Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard left open-mouthed by Martin Lewis’ ‘angelic’ voice as he bursts into song before money-saving tips

This Morning’s Cat Deeley and Ben Shepard were left open-mouthed by Martin Lewis‘ ‘angelic’ voice as they shared a clip of him bursting into song before sharing his money-saving tips.

Tuesday’s instalment of the ITV show saw the broadcaster, 53, appear on the programme to talk to the presenters about the upcoming episode of his show Martin Lewis Money Show.

But before Martin could share his latest money saving tips, as well as what viewers could expect from this evening’s instalment, Ben brought up his latest impressive performance.

Ben said: ‘Hold on. Hold on. Showbiz Lewis….

‘Last week, when we spoke to you, you were introducing the idea of you singing before your big show last week, which you did up in Manchester…

‘Can we just remind anyone who may have missed how exquisite your singing voice is Martin Lewis.’

Martin confessed: 'I have to say, I'm quite delighted that coming through to me, it's actually not fully carrying which is marvellous so I don't have to listen to it again!'

They then played out a clip of the star singing his own version of Andy Williams’ Christmas tune It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

Martin looked dapper in a black suit and matching bow tie as he performed on stage last week.

But an embarrassed Martin said: ‘I have to say, I’m quite delighted that coming through to me, it’s actually not fully carrying which is marvellous so I don’t have to listen to it again!

‘It is sensationally over, I’m glad it’s been done, we’ve done that, I don’t have to do it again for another year.

‘But it is our festive tradition on the Christmas show!

‘It’s a way of signalling to the viewers that it’s a bit different. Tonight though, back to the normal serious stuff.

‘We heard on Friday that the electricity rates will go up 5.1% in January. People have to get off that pants cap. I’ll be taking everyone’s questions on electricity and gas bills tonight.’

They then went on to share some questions that viewers had sent in for him to answer.

Martin took to his X account after his appearance on the ITV show to tell fans what to expect this evening.

He wrote: ‘Tonight 8pm @itvMLshow – Electricity bills to rise 5.1% in Jan.

‘I’ll show you how you can beat it (and does your energy firm owe you £100s), plus put your questions to the boss of UK’s biggest energy retailer Octopus.’

The star always puts on Christmas specials of his programme each year.

Talking about the preparation for those shows, Martin tweeted: ‘Wow it’s been a big week. And next week is even bigger!

‘I’ve lots to do this weekend to prep for two live TV shows, a budget & more, but still think its best to take my weekend social detox.

‘So I hope you have a lovely weekend & I’ll see you Sun night or Monday.’

Martin regularly appeared on Good Morning Britain and This Morning to share his money tips, after shooting to fame as a financial journalist.

Back in September Martin fought back tears on This Morning as an elderly guest revealed how she and her husband were scammed out of their entire life savings by fraudsters using a fake video of him.

The MoneySavingExpert founder was visibly shaken as 77-year-old Gill Casey told her story live on air to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley

Gill explained how her husband Tim was duped in 2022 after encountering a fabricated clip featuring Martin.

The convincing footage persuaded Tim to hand over thousands of pounds to a company called Terra-Markets, only for the couple to later discover it was a sham.

Hearing the account, Martin became visibly emotional, telling viewers he was ‘devastated’ by criminals continuing to impersonate him online.

‘It’s just devastating,’ he admitted. ‘I do not do adverts, I do not recommend “make money” products, I do not recommend crypto-trading or investment schemes.

‘If you see those adverts on social media, they are criminals. The way they draw you in with £250 as a usual amount and they persuade you to put more money in.’

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
